Ok S.G.s are the ones who help you find out who you are. They help you whenever you need them. They help you find answers. They help you be, well you... I can't explain why we have them, but they are the best thing to have

I have 2 Spiritual guides that I know of so far. I have heard, though I'm not sure if its true, that one person can have up to 5 spiritual guides. I hope this helps you out a bit, if not, I'll get you a link to a great website. Take care.

Ok, Is there any way to contact them without going directly into the astral plane? I tried doing that once and failed miserably because I fell asleep.

do a search on this site for pendulums, thats how i talk with my guides. Also, even though you may not notice, but you talk to your guides every day. They give you information all the time!

If I am not mistaken Robert Bruce says that not everyone has a spirit guide(s). I think I tend to agree that the typical idea of assigned spirit guides is wrong. Don't disregard everything beavis says as just being silly, as I think he is much more correct than he has been given credit for on this. I think that there are spirits that may choose to stick around a certain person and guide them, but it is by their choice for whatever reason. More likely one gets help every now and then, maybe from the same spirit, several, or different ones throughout. I am sure that you can call out for guidence and a helpful spirit may come. But I think that all that you need is within you. Try looking within for your answers, as everything you need to know about yourself is there. Also pay more attention to your surroundings, as spirit guides can make things know subtly in your everyday life. Though, try not to become superstious.

From my understanding everyone does have at least one Guide, usually more.
We all have a Guardian that is assigned at birth and will stay with you throughout your life and meet you at the end. Their job is to ensure that you follow your path, you will most likely never meet them.
There are then other guides depending on what level of development. ie. Healers will have a healing guides, Phsycics will have a Physcic guide etc. that will help when called upon when you are doing this kind of work. These guides will most likely change during your life and are not people that you have known, but higher beings that have chosen to come back and help those on the path.
Then there is a Gatekeeper, not everyone has one of these, but if you are on the path and doing phsycic/healing work the chances are you do, this one is in charge of organizing the others and ensuring that you are protected.
Then there are helpers and everyone has these. They are likely to be people that you have known but not always. They do the little things like when you desperatly need a car park quickly, one suddenly appears, they do the little things.....test them, ask for that car park and see if appears, they love to be asked to help (just not the tatslotto numbers)!
The best way to get in touch with them is through meditation, once you get to know them you can regognise which one you are talking to.

For me a spiritguide is just a advanced part of ourselves. like, if you think of past lives, you could be your spiritguide, if you are in the spirit realm, for yourself that is in the past. but this is all IMHO.

What is time anyways ?

If you add your life experience with that of a past life, and are aware of such, what are you then ?

At which level does a spirit guide exist ?

i agree. Usually a guide will be there for the sole purpose of inspiring its guidee to think for him/herself.

I agree. I met my spirit guide during a shaman jurny. It was wierd. It was a parrot and I thought to myself that having just one parrot as a spirit guide sucks so he asked me how many parots I want. I said 2 and so one more parrot came. Then the parrots became a cloud of smoke and an female angel emurged.
It was a wierd experiance, but from then I had few more shaman-dreams and I have to say that the guide does not act to much it just exists and gives you confidenc. It does nothing for you, almost nothing. It inspires.
