It was in the morning when I tried to astral project, I used binaural  beats in the morning. I tried to astral project but I failed, strange thing I saw myself falling asleep but was too unconscious to stop myself, I just moved with the motion.
As I fell into sleep there was darkness then a dream started, t'was at my cousin's house there was this girl who later I found she's an android (silly I know), I spent quite a time with her then suddenly there was her daughter who's also a an andriod who hated me, she didn't want me near her mom (lool). Strange thing about this, the house was at anothe location but the back yard was at home, that was a first marker that told this is a dream, and that's when I knew I was dreaming. I went to another room and found my other cousins watching tv, I sat with them but didn't talk, I just told them that this is a dream... at that time I was thinking that maybe I'm in a shared dream because the dream was sooo real and this was my very first one I've ever had.
I saw my other cousin, i told her this is a dream and she can leave the house without using a door so we levitated through the ceiling and onto the roof (although i got stuck after the ceiling but made it out though)
Another marker was someone was turning the light but the switch was outside, i found that to be odd so i guessed to him that he's turning on the sun, he laughed and denied and he did turn on the sun so then i saw certain without a doubt i was dreaming. So since i knew i was dreaming i thought of flying, i was thinking that because i told a friend about lucid dreaming and he did it and flew so i flew to. i had a fun time in the air though i couldnt be on the air for very long and i couldn't fly high like the birds.

my questions are how to why didn't i become lucid when i tried it again? and how to use lucid dreaming for astral projection?
sorry for the long read.

From my experience, lucidity is not an "on and off" switch ... it is more like a gradient or continuum ... so I sometimes become partially lucid or aware during a dream.

Second, guidance uses dreams for communicating. Your guidance was probably helping you in your dream. For example, meditate on this ... "Who turned the light on? Why would someone help like that?" ... this kind of help happens all the time so don't be concerned about missing it ... my experience is that guidance is often gentle and subtle (and their help is overlooked because of this ... at least until we become more attuned to their assistance).

You're doing great.

AND...
Keep in mind that that continuum doesn't just happen in the non-physical.
It's as much a part of your everyday physical life as it is while sleeping.

Have you ever been so drunk that you couldn't remember portions of that night?  That's you, being fully awake in the physical, yet your consciousness is, in effect, "dreaming".
You're DREAMING while you're PHYSICALLY AWAKE!

Neat, eh?

Yes ... I have stated a few times here in the last two months or so that the physical and non-physical is all one thing, so the mentioned continuum includes both. I agree with your reminder, but I was focused on answering the question in the context presented (e.g., dreaming). I see night time sleep (and dreaming) uniquely both as (1) physical rest and (2) a less disrupted connection back into the non-physical.

I do not adopt the conclusion (like Tom Campbell holds forth) that the physical experience is purely a simulation. The physical experience is more than another form of dreaming. However, I do agree that both "simulation" and "dreaming" are useful metaphors for mentally exploring our relationship to the physical. We often live and reflect the metaphors that we are focused upon. It is highly interactive here as creators of our own experience.

Overall, my growing sense is that we are much more complex than imagined or discussed. I do not have all the words to describe this mystery that we are, but I was reminded not too long ago by my guidance that I am the "captain of my mystery ship". So, I present this metaphor.

Very generally, my current understanding is that we are complex beings extended into the physical from our non-physical aspects (Source, if that is preferred). In that, I do not see the non-physical as better than the physical OR humans as less than others (that are not human). The human is a small part of who I am (and I am human - that is a reality). The physical experience is an expansion of Consciousness, and we are participating in that expansion (as human extensions). I am here for the joy of that expansion. When I am in joy, I am lined up. So, certainly the more conscious we are in waking life while consistently experiencing things that we are joyful about, the more consciousness comes forth and the more it expands.

As a result, getting out of body is not the most important activity. Being extended here (consciously) and experiencing things sure seems to be though.

These are how I "word" things for myself.

I never thought of it that way Subtle traveler, I never noticed that guy turning on the sun was subtly telling me I'm in a dreaming. Another thing I forgot to mention is that when I was in a roof with my cousin, I thought of flying (since I knew I was in a dream) as I jumped for take off this guy held my leg tight and I was on mid air. There was a small window on my left and a nail that was nailed above that window.
He told to fly, I thought of what he was doing. I told him that there is a nail by the window and if I take off while you are holding my leg I will hurt myself by the nail, plus I'll break the window. He was impressed with my answer then he let me go. it could be the same guy who turned on the sun (or light lol).
Here's a weird part, that guy was on the ground and I was on the roof but he held my leg and yet he was normal height, weird huh lol?
But seriously, how do I lucid dream again,  I love it, it's so HD.

I had many adventures in so called and labeled "dreams" that my helpers told me through some kind of representation that I'm some kind of boss or captain too. I couldn't understand it so well. I had a dream where I was in a classroom, a guy next to me was making notes in his booklet which was not in human language. The "teachers" were grey ETs and they were very nice (I'm never afraid of and friendly), so suddenly they saw me and made a probe in my mind, and I saw that they started to represent something in front of me as a holographic floating screen movie. It was about a spacecraft crash and told me that we were an 5 manned crew and I was the captain. I couldn't understand it through the months but I always had dreams (I don't like this word, I'm mostly aware as here), where I was with people and I'm mostly a leader.
So it is interesting what your helpers said to you too.
We talked a lot about this issue too with Szaxx and it seems like I need to investigate almost everything by myself. Well this way, it has a good challenge indeed lol.
