If you're having a lucid dream, you're already "out".  The thing is you're very high up on the astral planes, so everything is very down-the-rabbit-holish.  You need to will yourself onto lower astral planes (or higher, depending on where you're going), a task which I've discovered to be rather difficult.

Beep beep beep Arie, I wrote something like that not long ago ...
...glad you to have experienced ´it´ - absolutely mind-blowing and undescribable ...  the first time I felt it, I mean really FELT it, was about  1 and a half month ago, standing on a... ehh.. "the thingie that goes out in the water where you can tie boats to and stuff" ;).... anyway I was standing on one of those one beautiful quiet morning, listening to the waves and bird song, feeling the wind silently blowing in my face, watching the swahns (sp? the white wonderful creatures) swimming around me apparently completely at peace and the birds flying...  to be continued..

...flying above the vast seemingly neverending ocean..  and then suddenly - BAM!!!  I wasn´t shot...  Instead, like lightning from a clearblue skye, I started to cry, weeping like a baby.... I had for quite some time been thinking of this ´theory´ of everything being one, which I was first introduced to by native indians some years ago, but now I Felt it to be true... I was put to a state of mind I had never experienced before, one of TOTAL peace, invincibilty and BLIZZ !!!         I thought that after this nothing could ever  be the same, taking for granted this feeling/experience would never  fade...   but just like you said, it did fade, not completely but it did fade and I lost the feeling, I still carry it with me through my mind though but that doesn´t allow me to feel it if you know what I mean, I hope some day I will have this "feeling/knowing" not only for a  while but forever.
And well, I reckon we will sooner or later.... =)

About what you said that energy has a maker, that I am not so sure of, I have been......

...started thinking of another mind boggling thought lately, after reading an article laying forward a theory in science illustrated about that there has never been a beginning, and there will be no end - that EVERYTHING has always BEEN, and was NEVER created, that the "big bang" simply was a heartbeat of "the one".........  thinking about this for quite some time also put me in awe, but this is perhaps impossible to fully understand in this level of existance, and I have not "experienced" this as I have with the "oneness" so it hasn´t made me weep - yet... hahaahaa......  and I am supposed to be this macho guy, yea right... =)

It's good to see someone discovering our Oneness.  It's good for you; it's good for me; it's good for everybody.  I can't say that I have experienced a full-blown realization of Oneness, but starting in my mid-twenties I started having experiences that startled me at first, (though now I am used to them).  This is the experience of feeling someone else in yourself, coming and going like a brief gust of wind. Usually it's someone I know, (but if it weren't, how would I know it was anyone at all?  If you gather my drift.)  Sometimes I pick it up from just being around someone for a little while.  I have often thought that The One was trying to tell me something, especially when this first started.  Namely:  That we are all One.  Nevertheless, I have spent many years in and out of the abyss of my little egocentric desires, (tends toward forgetfulness about things like Oneness), and only relatively recently have I been drawn back toward the heights of The Great Search.  Last February I became a member of The Academy of Remote Viewing.  I'm a lousy remote viewer, (so far), but the site and the tapes/cd's are full of stuff about, (voila!), The One.  Check out http://www.mindsafari.com/.  There's links on there that are all about The One.  Right now I'm still reading Paramahansa Yogananda's "Autobiography of a Yogi".  Fascinating!  And fun!  (He has a definite sense of humor.)  There's a ton of literature, these days, linking mysticism, (especially eastern mysticism),  with quantum physics.  I had heard Edgar Mitchell, the former Apollo astronaut, talking about the holographic universe, and about how it's being discovered it is more like a big THOUGHT, than about matter.  (You were talking about energy, right?)  And just yesterday I was reading in Yogonanda's book a direct quote about that universe-is-a-thought idea, and that quote is at least 50 or 60 years old, and evidently the concept is an ancient one, as per the mystics of India.  Deepak Chopra's book, "How to Know God" is about 7 stages of "God responses" I believe it was, and the 7th stage is the state of unity, oneness, (although he says we all experience the 7 stages, to some degree, all the time.)  I guess people start feeling that 7th stage when they look at stars at night.  Or when they go outside and get into nature, like you did.  But I gather you really got a big, big RUSH of Oneness!   Far out!  Congratulations!

Oh Arie, by the way, didn´t your "inner knowing" tell you one or two things about not smoking cigarettes mate?

Paukki, Edgar Mitchell is a great man, and he might beon to something there, the universe being like a "big thought"...

Hey, I'm no scientist, but sometimes I happen to take the time to listen to one or two of them.  What I heard is that there is a growing number of people within the scientific community who are believing that "consciousness is primary", or "first cause".  This hasn't been the case, within science, for a very long time, (going back, evidently, to Descartes and the division he made between mind and body, for the sake of ending the quarreling between church and science).  The general scientific opinion has been that human consciousness is an "epiphenomenon of nature"--you know, that evolution put this molecule and that molecule together, and over some eons of time your brain was built out of all that, and consciousness is a result of it.  But now the talk is that we are not our brains, we are non-local minds, (a buzz-word of the times, "non-local"), and the brain is just like a radio receiving signals from outside of itself.  In The Academy of Remote Viewing, we are told that below the theta level of consciousness, (Delta),  we are non-local MIND, (the "universal mind"); we are One.  (Someone emailed that there is a theoretical "Epsilon", beyond Delta, also.)  The quote that I read about the universe beginning to look more like a great thought than a great machine is attributed to Sir James Jeans, in "The Mysterious Universe", and was quoted in Paramahansa Yogananda's "Autobiography of a Yogi", (copyright, 1946).  Yogananda also quotes from the gospel according to John a couple of times, ("In the beginning was the Word...", etc.)   I believe these things tie together and aren't just a lot of loose associations.

Paukki, I AM absolutely convinced that conciousness isn´t a result from a complicated organ such as the brain...  I feel certain that consciousness is what you reffered to as "first cause" !!

Paukki sounds finnish by the way ;)

Most occult theory talks about 'oneness' and the differing states of oneness that it is possible to acheive.

In most occult theory the ultimate goal of all life (which are individual 'sparks' of life splitting off from the creator)  is to return finally after a full cycle of evolution (which may take millions or billions of years) and merge with the 'one' or creator/god. Then the cycle of being is complete.
However, although you are talking about the ultimate goal of life is to become one with the divine again, this can also be seen from a individulistic viewpoint.
Crowley talked about us entering the 'age of the individual' where we take control of our own evolution/destiny.

The evolution to the point where we become one again can literaly take 'ages' but one day we will be pure enough and wise enough and powerful enough, we have reached our full potential as individual beings,
at this point we merge with the creator agin, the ultimate 'individual'.
As you can see, at the end of the cycle of being, you in effect become the 'ultimate individual', the creator.  I think, this is what Crowely is getting at.

Therefor it is possible to se the same path from an individulistic viewpoint as well, in fact it is more accurate.
Of course along the way we can experience tasters of what oneness is like to small and varying extents.

Some people seem to be a bit uncomfortable with the concept that one day we will mege with the creator/ the one, again as it could be seen as a loss of personal identity, but if you think about it it is actually a two way trade.
The creator gets you and all the knoweledge/wisdom you have accumulated over the eons (remember you will be a VERY powerful being by this time, quite godlike yourself in many respects) and you get all of THE ONE, you become the one with all that entails, the ultimate individual.
Actually its a good deal because everything you gave over you get back, multiplied by some infinite amount!

As the one/god, little sparks of your vast conciousness will be splitting off to start their own journeys once again, and endless cycle in which you as the creator become ever more powerful.
To what end I can't imagine but then I'm not suprised as how is anyone here on this level meant to understand such things, that's somthing that we'll have to find out for ourselves.

Regards,
Douglas

Greetings!

I believe in one. Since I can remember I felt totaly close to other people, animals, plants and this... I can feel all the joy, but as well all the pain of others.
I try to listen to my heart instead of mind.
Anyway we are all made of stardust, we are all one and I think that more and more people will start to feel it, too.

Arie

Hi everyone!  Yesterday I was reading some posts and someone said that some people have the belief that everything is God therefore we are all one.  I thought about it and my intuition was going beep beep beep.  :-)  Sooooo I began to REALLY experience it.  I was put into awe!!!!  It felt like my eyes were opened.  It reminded me of the movie the matrix!  I went outside and began walking around listening to the sounds of nature and became One.  Then later on it the calm inner knowing I had about being One began to wear off.  I have no clue why.  But today I woke up and smoked ciggerette and began to think about it again.  And I got the "calm inner knowing"  about it again.  Does anyone know what I'm talking about?  I would love to here your experiences!  Anyways it makes sense to me because everything is energy at the fundamental level.  Even a rock is made up of energy.  And I believe that this energy has to have a maker...or a First Source and that is God.  This just makes sense to me and my intuition agrees.

To go on a different point.   I had an interesting experience last night.  I had a lucid dream where I was flying and then suddenly.....I remembered that I could have an obe from lucid dreams.  So I flew over to this ledge out in the middle of knowhere....and I found a blanket to ly on.  Then I was willing myself to go out of my body.  But then I woke up!!!!!!!  Arghhhhh   This is the second time this has happened to me.   I don't know I think that maybe there is a  link that since I'm growing spiritually I'm beginning to become more "aware."  Anyone know what I mean?  Spiritual growth and becoming more aware....must be somehow linked or something.  Somehow I ":feel" that I'm going to have an obe soon.  I can't explain it but it feels true.

Adios.....much love.
