I'm about to admit a fear here.   Back in Dec of 2003, I had a very dramatic experience.  I was afraid to post it here, thinking I was going to be made fun of.  I wasn't quite proud of my positive attitude back then. not to mention the higherself chatting with me, and visual ques..tsk, tsk.. *slaps own hand*

Well, I'm not afraid anymore.  So, here it is.

QuoteHello All,

I thought I would share something that happened to me a week ago while with my husband.  We were attending a company Christmas party.  Everything was going wonderful, but I needed to take a break and grab a smoke..(yeah, still smoking but actually have cut back quite a bit)

I stepped outside onto this balcony that was the designated smokers area. It overlooked the lake and a patio down below for the smokers on the lower level. I was alone looking around, when I noticed a gentleman standing below smoking a cigg and alone as well. He was staring up into the sky and I thought, admiring the stars that were out in full force that night.

I watched him for a few seconds and in my head popped the " Romeo, oh Romeo" famous line. I started to say it outloud to him, but thought..ok..nope, don't know this guy he will think I am a nut. I was done with my cigg at this point and started to go back inside..and I swear it was like a physical blow.."DO IT"!!!!

Ok then, no need to yell.... I stepped to the edge and said.."oh Romeo oh Romeo, for where art thou Romeo"

The man spun around and looked up at me. I commented to him that when people are alone outside at night, we tend to look up to heaven and the stars.

He said..."I was talking to someone, and hoping they were hearing me, I was asking for a sign and then you said the one thing that she used to say."

OK..you could have knocked me over with a feather at this point.

I was covered in chills and not because it was cold outside..the cold had been forgotten the moment he said those words to me.

We continued to speak for just a few moments, long enough for him to tell me that it was his daughter whom died of cancer and that it was her birthday on Dec, 5th.......... My daughters birthday is on Dec, 5th !!! His daughter wasn't even 12yr....

I told him that we were suppose to meet for sure!..he agreed but as he opened the door to go back inside, he stopped looked up at me and said.. "I think you just might be a angel" Then went inside.

What can I say, I'm teary now thinking about it again....not in a bad way but in the way, that life is sooooooo very wonderful sometimes, and that complete strangers can be a comfort to each other!

Oh, another thought..had I quit smoking..I never would have been outside on that balcony..

I still get emotional..  Oh, I've been smoke free for 7-8 months no...hmm I've quit counting.    Now if the damn pollen would leave me alone!

Wow. Talk about being in tune. It must give you some comfort in that someone/something is obviously guiding you.

Good job on quitting smoking. But your right, the pollen is probably worse than cigarette smoke right now.

El-Bortukali

well, you won't have to stop if you don't start in the first place
