Hello all,
I'm new in meditation and spiritual thing. It all started when my ex made another woman pregnant, we had to have a divorce so he could go on with his "new life", and their baby was born last month. (We were married from '96 to '09, after dating since '88).
I was born and raised in a culture where people still practicing black and white magics, do religious rituals (meditating, fasting, give offering to various spirits, etc), or at least consulting psychics or clairvoyants as often as we are reading horoscope columns here in the west.
Lately I've been trying to start meditating, since I felt more and more depressed after knowing that their baby has been born (FYI : my ex never really said bye, let alone apologize. He just disappeared into thin air to be with that woman. I had to track him down through his family and friends to ask for a divorce. After that, he left the divorce process to a lawyer and his brother-in-law. Guy just cut all his communications with me completely).

My question is : what is this I've been experiencing right after I finished my meditation: I felt bitter taste in my mouth, nauseous, lightheaded, and from looking into the mirror I could tell there are dark circles around my eyes when they weren't there before ? Does anybody know what's it all about ?
PS : My ex inherited this psychic ability from his dad's side. It's very easy for him to have OBE, even in broad day light whenever he wants to. (But as far as I'm concerned, during 20 yrs I knew him he wasn't really into developing this skill). In addition to that, his mom's also a very spiritual person who follows this "Gandhi lifestyle" sort of thing. She would meditate for hours every single night, and it's been going on long since my ex was still a kid).

I really want to know what's going on with me ? Can someone please help ?

Sounds like it's time for you to start your healing process.
You might want to step back from meditating for a short while, at least until you become emotionally happier.
You can really attract some negativity if you meditate with the wrong state of mind.

I'd suggest (if it's not already done) to get the divorce done to provide some closure and go from there.
Then take some time for *yourself* do what makes YOU happy.  :)

The bitterness is probably something you're creating or attracting to yourself due to the negativity you've experienced lately.

Try to determine what your goals are and read the posts in this forum to help you achieve them. And the sensations you described are usually the effect of energy body development. They will go away in time but for the mean time try brushing your teeth before you meditate.

One of the  basic causes of a bitter mouth is simply that when some of us becomes completely relaxed, the jaw goes slack, the mouth opens and the tongue dries, leaving a salty or bitter taste. I actually use a foam cushion placed under my chin to prevent this.

The dark circles could be the same effect we experience just after waking up and the face is puffy. Simply caused by lymphatic fluid accumulation when prone. This is normal, happens to everyone, and should go away after walking around and standing for awhile.

It's easy to let the imagination get carried away and create complicated associations. Hopefully it's just a couple basic things.

I honestly thought acid reflux- the body sometimes shows us symbolically what our spirit is going through- you have had a 'bitter pill to swallow' and this upset is affecting your physically.  Nothing wrong with that, it is what it is- but I recommend that if you are not going through some sort of counseling to get it, to help with this heavy heavy transitional process you're going through-after all, the life you thought you had just went away, no warning, no nothing.
I applaud your decision to meditate through this process, but I urge you to do some venting first, so that your mind is more 'clear' and in less 'pain'- I think this is what your body is telling you.
Of course, just an impression.
Peace to you.
CF.
