I dont know if its the same thing but one time, not meditating just sitting there, I felt a HUGE inward pulling sensation in my heart chakra, so intense that I clutched my chest without any thought, instant reaction. And at the same time as this, the lamp right next to me dimmed and made a loud buzzing noise.

It sounds like you were on your way to an astral projection.  Astral projectors often describe hearing clicking when they reach the point where they leave the body.  I am not certain of the reason behind this, but can say from experience that seems to be connected with astral projecting on this plane.  Also, the solar plexus (a point more or less on the chest) is connected with the astral body leaving the physical.  Some think that this is where it 'exits'.  The numb sensation is one that I can also relate to.  The 'numbness' is like the body falling asleep when all of these other things occur.  We're basically leaving behind all of our sensations of the physical world, so the transition to this is a little like when we notice our foot is asleep.

Possible projection, but I find that so many people relate things two ways, either you're in your body, or your projecting.  But meditation is a very powerful tool for many things, and I'm certain there is more to learn from it.  The sensations to point to a prelude to a projection, if you listen to the "common experiences".  But I have had many strange sensations while meditating, and have conversed with my higher self while still very much in the body.  My advice, do what you were doing while meditating and see if you can do it again, or see if something new happens.  I'm guessing when it happened you weren't trying to make it happen, so trying to make it happen again might be counterproductive.  Just do what you did, don't expect anything.

Any type of meditation is a cleanising process. Cleanising at physical, mental and emotional levels.. So everyone gets different expereinces related to cleansing. And many new channels of energy flow opens up.
Let every experience be unique and do not try to reproduce it.  Meditation is a natural process and let it flow naturally.  If there is excessive pain, please slow down the practice or change the type of meditation that you do but please do not quit.

were there any other projection related symptoms like vibrations and how did you feel after that?
maybe you spontaneously projected but cant remember it due to mind split...
