Hi Blossem and Adrian,
Perhaps I can help. Maoli will be 2 on October 21st. The tumor was detected by her parents as a swelling in her abdomen on October 21st last year. Since October 22, she has been in the hospital.
She understands Japanese and perhaps some English. She cannot speak now due to the tracheostomy tube but I did hear her utter "mama" around the tube last week.
From my observations, she can understand English in so far as "wave bye bye" but most of her understanding is in Japanese as taught to her by parents and staff at the hospital.
I hope this helps you, please contact me should you have other questions and thanks for your continued support.
Dr. T
Thanks Doctor T! I really appreciate it. That is exactly what I needed to know..
Sincerely,
Blossom
Just wanting to learn....
Hello Adrian,
I would like to know what language Maoli speaks OR if you can find out what language she speaks or understands if you don't know. Does she speak english by any chance? or Japanese? Is she bilingual by any chance?
I know this seems an odd question to ask, but I really would like to know how language she speaks and her level of understanding of it.
Also, is she 2 years old? Or nearly 2?
Thanks, Jenn [aka Blossom]
