Details?

A little background on yourself helps (along with beliefs etc).  Can you pinpoint exactly when this started?  Was some sort of trauma involved?  What you you done for the condition physically, mentally , and since your here spiritually?
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

The insomnia started in April 2001.  It came from no where.  One night I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep.  There was no trauma or anything I could pinpoint as the cause.  I've taken prescription and herbal medications.  Mentally I'm exhausted from the stress the insomnia has caused.  Spiritually I've said many prayers.  Beliefs?  I am a Christian if that's what you're asking.  I've never had a problem sleeping before April 2001.  The doctors could not find anything wrong with me to explain it.

Metaphysically speaking, insomnia can come from 3 things.

1)  Physical.  Your body has stopped (or started) to produce a chemical that's interferring with sleep.  I believe seritonin or melatonin were teh biggest culprits?  They are also related to depression.

2)  Mental.  Your mind is troubled and won't let the body rest.  Since the mind controls the body, see #1 for the results.  These can be subconcious issues, denials of things from your past, or any number of things.

3) Spritual.  Your soul has issues with your concious mind, which in turn causes issues with your body.  Soul issues can be doubting your faith, lack of faith, lack of affirmation of faith, denying something, and the list goes on.

Doesn't sound helpful, does  it?  Sorry.  I'm of the opinion that Insomnia is generally symptom, and not a problem in and of itself.  I have had problems with it in the past (stemming form depression), and resolving it usually centered around acknowledging and resolving an issue I had been ignoring (mental and spritual both).

So how to help you?  There isn't any "magical" cure, despite what the forum implies.  A good metaphysical healer (I consider myself a healer, but not as accomplished or good as I want to be at the moment), may be able to 'cure' you, but it won't last without getting to the underlying cause.

You can help yourself by working backwords.  Start with your faith and really examine what you believe.  This is very hard to do, especially if you follow your parents faith, but its' really important.  Talking to the clergy is good, and different clergy is better!

Next is your mind.  Are you really okay?  Your not repressing something, you don't hate your life?  Your not hiding abuse from yourself?  Unhappy marriage?  Stuff like that.  Here you can turn to support groups, councelors, clergy, friends and the like.  This can take awhile, and the key is Don't lie to yourself.  Very simple, you have to be totally honest with yourself!  If you can't be, you won't resolve the issue.

Lastly is the body.  Are you eating well?  And by well, I don't mean a salad with dinner.  I mean are you eating wholesome nutritious food?  The answer is NO if your like 95% of america.  Wholesome food is fish and white meat (a little red meat is okay), fresh produce and whole grains?  You can't get any of that at a grocery store (or very little). Fish/Chicken/Pork/Beef with no steroids or chemical additives?  Produce that's not old and artificially ripend?  Bread that doesn't have Lye in it to make it soft and white?  It really takes an effort to do this, but the results can be spectacular.  And multi-vitamins aren't what they seem, try  natural suppliments instead.

And very lastly, if you truly want a physchic healing, one can be arranged for the group.  We would need a time and relative place, and a recent picture to make the attempt.  You will wnat to participate be being relaxed and receptive.

Hi Kristina,

A warm welcome to the forum.

I also have had episodes of insomnia on and off over a long periods time, and also recently (although that is simply behavioural on my part). Several years shift work had not helped either, and created additional stress on my system. In my late 30's I realised that I (for one) needed to take a big life review. As per many schools of thought the body really does store up accumulated stress over time and this compounded my sleep pattern. I realised that I needed to tackle this before it became a serious health issue.

To deal with this I took the complementary route and avoided the allopathic solution like the plague. Things I have found useful included: a complete dietary change (now mostly vegetarian and organic), a return to hatha yoga, meditation and deep relaxation techniques. I also realised there were underlying core issues as well! So I then chose to explore this further and started to practice self healing methods initially employing the UK medium Betty Shine's mind magic/power methods, and then chose to seek hands on and distant spiritual healing. For me this overall approach made a tremendous difference on many levels, although it was very cathartic in a positive way!

In more recent times (like many here) I have found distinct benefit in using Robert Bruce's methods as explained in his books and articles e.g. Healing With The Heart - Mystic Heart Center Healing Method see:

http://www.astralpulse.com/articles/robert/articles_45.htm

You may already have the following books, but I have a small (very inexpert), but growing interest in this issue and had recently come across the classic book: The Good Sleep Guide by Michael Van Straten. Also worth looking at is the brief but excellent: Herbal Medicine – Sleep & Relaxation by Dr Desmond Corrigan.

I could only speculate whether or not your insomnia has any correlation to what I have discussed above. In the mean time I would be really pleased to add your name to my healing list.

Hope this helps in some part?

Kind wishes,

Stephen [:)]

Take MELATONIN pills. its a natural brain chemical that causes sleep. If that doesnt work, take 8 of them. Didnt hurt me, but it did make it hard to breathe.

Hi Kris< dont see why not? I dont actualy know a great deal about crystals, im not realy what some people my call new age. The amathyist under the pillow thing was recommended by a very powerful spychic medium and healer called Betty shine. She has written a few books and until she passed over a couple of years ago had been aclaimed the number one healer in the world. The amathyst thing has worked for me in the past, best wishes, Marcus.

I have been suffering from chronic insomnia for 3 years.  Doctors have been no help.  I wake frequently during the night and have no energy during the day.  It's really frustrating.  Some days I'm so tired I just cry.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

God Bless,
Kristina
