Things are looking better today. 137/74 instead of 162/98. It seems my risk of having a heart attack or stroke has dropped since yesterday. At various times energy had been sent to me between my first post and this one. Thanks everyone who sent energy.

Hi Tom,
relax, you sure will not drop dead on a bloodpressure of 162/98. Your risk over the next 10 years or so to get a heart attack or a stroke  will be higher for sure. Have a controle meassure every now and then. Things can`t be that bad when the next day it´s normal. If you have risk factors such as overweight, smoking, stress and lack of exercise try to fix that. Your still young, don`t let you talk into antihypertonics prematurely.

When the doctor talked with me about it, he seemed really mad that I was laughing at him. If he really thought I was at risk of dropping dead from high blood pressure, should he talk that way to me? Besides, based on the feel of my heartbeat (and it was very distinct at 162/98) my blood pressure has been much higher than that. Despite appearances to the contrary, I am easily agitated and can become quite tense. It is a regular thing and the warning was appreciated in that I did not realize that it was catching up with me. Yesterday I bought some valerian capsules.

The valerian isn't working. I feel like I have a really strong caffeine buzz most of the time, but without any pills. The blood pressure is still on the high end and the diastolic is in the 90s still. It seems that the 74 was the exception. The blood pressure has been uncomfortable for over a year now, but I thought it was normal.

I read somewhere that Garlic and Onion could be beneficial for High Blood Pressure.

Tom, greetings from North of the 49th....just wanted to say that managing your blood pressure is important...I have first-hand and a very sad experience with this silent dis-ease. Keep us posted.

The headaches and dizzy spells haven't been a problem for a couple of months now. I think my 162/98 a couple of weeks ago was actually a result of much progress. Someone got me started on the garlic and onion pills. I just need to get the pressure knocked down so that it no longer feels normal.

Thanks for the reiki. I never remember to use it on myself.

Good morning, and indeed it should be...this will be the start of spring...we finally broke out of our minus 30 degree celsius (yes, we are the frozen north)...but don't get me started talking about weather. So glad to hear you are feeling like you have some control back on the BP. I would like to think the Reiki will help and will continue to send as much as you are willing to receive. My geriatric kitty seems to be enjoying an extended quality of life with the healing I give him...he has a liver mass but seems to be free of any discomfort for now.

Job market??? Hmmmm....I'm in Manitoba and from what I hear things are going well in many job sectors. Computer tech is always happening. Thinking of immigrating? Perhaps we'll see a return to the 60's and be welcoming many young lads as conscientious objectors.

Today I went to a doctor for allergy medicine and was told that my blood pressure (162 over 98) is "dangerously high". The doctor said that he would let me walk out of the clinic this time, but he seemed reluctant about it. Maybe the blood pressure explains why I have been having nosebleeds recently. It might be a good idea to start avoiding caffeine, and that will have side effects. In any case, all help will be appreciated.
