Title: Pastor James Collins
Post by: Summerlander on April 30, 2011, 07:27:28
This guy has turned out to be a messenger of truth and his words were a revelation in America. He certainly dropped a Godly bombshell in the faith healing community. I thought he was terrific and he looks like our lord Jesus Christ. He could be the Second Coming. After all, the lord works in mysterious ways...

he is a fake made by Derron brown to expose the faith healing industry,
Derron could not do it because he is so famous so they auditioned for somebody
and that's who they ended up with his name isn't even James they just wanted his initials to be
JC. there was an hour long show on channel four England about how they made him

You should have given more time before you explained the post. People WOULD have accepted it as truth. There is a dangerous part of every population that will accept any fabulous claim without any due justification at all; they generally are well-intentioned and reverent people, but their loving credulity can be mobilzed by people who understand their thought-patterns into forming armies for whatever cause they want. Such is largely the story or human history, unfortunately.

You see the first post? I posted exactly the same on AVers first and people remained ignorant for two pages.

But he is preaching Christianity, which has many misconceptions and myths that surround it. Truth comes from Within.

I've never seen someone like that NOT ask for money. My immediate thought is "so what is this guy's scam?". There HAS to be an ulterior motive.

You see non-profits do this kind of thing, yet people working for non-profits still make money. But I don't think I've ever seen a spiritual leader not ask for money. Even the "good" ones. Why can't a spiritual leader make his money as a mechanic and do the good work out of compassion and generosity for others? Money is always a motivator.

LOL, hence why this guy is a spy for Derren Brown. And his feat surely helped a lot of people open their eyes to so-called healers! :-D

Now, are you saying "open their eyes to so-called healers" in that you think all healers are fake?
Or "open their eyes to so-called healers" in that this guy should obviously be lumped into the fake category of healers?

I have no doubt that genuine healers are out there.  But just like everything else in this world, sometimes it's hard to wade through the crap to find the real deal.  And sometimes the real deal also doesn't want to be found.

I don't know if there are real miraculous healers but I believe in people that use medicine and therapy to help others heal themselves. The so-called healers I'm on about are those whom pastor James was sent to expose. He showed that with simple tricks he could do exactly the same.

The charlatans he exposed were exploiting people, some of which already had criminal records for fraud. On top of that this is a dangerous game they are playing because they persuade people to stop taking their medicines and chemotherapy. They urge them to donate money to the healing institutions they work for while having faith that they'll be cured miraculously. They go as far as to use hypnosis on stage in order to convince people that they have been healed.

Especially those who are in pain get summoned on stage. An atmosphere of worship and exhilaration is created in order to bring about the release of adrenaline...and guess what, adrenaline is one of the most powerful painkillers. Many other tricks, particularly illusory ones are employed. Many died and got blamed for being sinful or hiding something from God as the reason why the healing didn't take place and thus perished. The "healers" just got richer and richer in Texas (where the reality show took place) because the majority of the religious community and the law enforcement support them.

That's why this was a tough mission for pastor James but in the end he pulled through.

I'm aware of people who have received genuine healings from different religious types (Hindu, Native American, Christian), but in each case I'm wondering if it wasn't just the element of faith that it would happen, rather than Jesus or Krishna or a Great Spirit or some deity summoned through prayer.  My mother was healed after a sermon by a Christian pastor who was later proven to be a fraud.  The healing was real even though the messenger was fake.  Is this faith simply bringing out our innate ability to heal ourselves?

BTW, thanks for the link Summerlander.  Very interesting.

No problem.  I believe so too!  I think the power of your mum's mind and her belief is what healed her, not the sermon from Fakey Fakerson.  It becomes dangerous, however, when they start advising people to abandon the medical help that they need and which is vital for their survival.  They also tend to blame the followers who perish with their illnesses by claiming they weren't faithful enough or that they wer hiding something.  It's disgusting.

Yes, it's super disgusting.  I know personally of a little girl who died because her parents were part of a religious cult that didn't believe in doctors and commanded everything to be done by prayer.  The tragic thing is that it was an infection that could have been cured with antibiotics.
