I am also interested in Reiki. I believe the masters of these arts can also be found on the planes of dreaming,  and am planning to seek a 'reiki level one attunement' through lucid dreaming.. I'll let you know how it goes..

One of my teacher's teachers said that it is possible to connect with the higher self and ask it for any reiki attunement for any level of any system. You can even invent your own forms of reiki this way. You can also extend systems well beyond the usual three levels.

What are you suppose to do one Level One?

[Tom]

Not much. The first level of most reiki systems provides a connection to an energy source and begins preparing the physical and higher bodies to receive more energy. It is a preparation step. It primarily affects the physical body. The second level adds energies at emotional and mental levels. It is in usui reiki (the standard version) the first level that directing energy at a distance or through time begins. This is in contrast with the first level, where the energy is guided through the hands to a point close enough to touch, although the hands do not have to be in direct contact. The third level does not offer a substantial increase in energy, but it does substantially increase the quality and makes the energy easier to use. Then there can be more cycles of three (preparation, expansion, completion). Usui reiki uses symbols at the second and third level. They are placed in the aura in the first level but they are not taught or used actively at that time. Some systems use many different symbols, while others have only a few. Some systems such as kundalini reiki do not use symbols at all. What matters most is setting the intention to access and use the energy. Symbols help to have something to concentrate on, which makes accessing the energy they represent easier. They can be dropped after a while and used only as needed, such as when doing a self-healing at a time when the concentration is not as strong as usual.

Firstly, I'll introduce my site on the nature of dreaming the world towards peace.

One key area of this site, is the 'Earth Dreamers' webforum, which hopes to gather together a large circle of dreamers from around the world, 'dreaming with and for the earth itself'.

One project we've been running this month, is research into dreams and healing. I'd heard a little from other friends, about their stories of learning meditation on the planes of dreaming, and decided well if that can be done.. I can seek a Reiki Master in dreaming too.. Here's the results of my story.. Hopefulyl it's an ongoing one.

Wow! I Met a Reiki Master (Sat 12 Apr 2003)
Preparation: I've been researching Reiki (a little) at http://www.reikitheworld.com. I think it is a very interesting practise, and was eager to get some experience of it, through lucid dreaming. My intent was to 'Meet a Reiki Master. Seek a Level One Attunement'.

Now, I'm back in the kitchen, still very lucid. I remember that last time I practised my 'embracing the tree' meditation in a lucid dream, that my arms kept bending, and that this seemed to have something to do with using the keyboard too much. I decide to try healing myself. At first I start applying energy from the right hand to the left arm, singing the energy across. However, this has a strange effect. My arm becomes more transparent, I can see a somewhat unhealthy looking red energy beginning to outline the skin. I become worried, that firstly the area doesn't really need this type of healing, and in any case being so experienced, and focusing my own energy on myself, could make it worse.

I try allowing the universal energy around me to flow into my right hand, and I see a higher density white-patchwork frame of light, forming around it. This light seems pure, and I know it can be used for healing. However, at this point I remember my goal for dreaming. I intend myself to 'Meet a Reiki Master', deciding that I will find him as soon as I open the door into my parent's room.

I turn the corner and what do you know. The Reiki Master, I'm looking for is most definitely there. He looks like some type of higher being. His face, is more like a white round mask. I can only describe it as similar to what a Geisha might wear, though it has an ancient feeling to it, and a unique energy all of it's own. He wears peasant like clothing, a red skirt like thing. His appearance is very beautiful, but almost like that of a cartoon character.

For some reason, when I get into the room, I think I have to pass some type of test. I seem to believe that I'm going to have to face my own demon's in order to meet him. I think this is just my reaction, to seeing one so incredible and powerful looking. He's a funny character, and initially we seem to dance with one another, mimicing each other's movements forwards and back. This is probably initiated by me, but it seems this is his way of understanding my own energy.

Some time after this, I begin to fade in my lucidity. It seems as though I'm about to drop out of the dream, but instead I found myself drawn into what I could only describe, with my limited terminology as his auric field. I see green wave-like patterns of asian origin, and feel myself and him as these patterns. I feel that I have to follow the trance-like nature of these movement, in order to increase my understanding of myself and of what it is he is doing here.

I return from this state, finding myself back in my dreaming body. He explains to me that we are in a sense reflections of each other, and that this process helps recognition of this. He also talks a little about the universe itself. I'm quite impressed by what he's done, but am excited to continue. I kind of casually stroll around him, "Mmm. reflections, hey. Yeh, I understand that". At this point, he decides to move on to a new activity, "Who do you want to heal", he asks. A thought pops into my head, and for some reason I decide that "my sister" will benefit from it. I get the sense that this is a good decision, as she's going through her final-year of school, and that this will help give her direction.

Immediately, my sister appears before me. He stands close to her, and he tells me there is some kind of parasite at the back of her head. I see a harpoon-like band of energy, reach into this energy center. I'm stunned. I know him to be applying the healing energy through this, but he seems to think there is not much time. It's as though there's some distraction in surface reality, and that we need luck on our side.

'Hmm', I think, remembering how important one's will is in affecting situations like this. Standing upright, I focus on the point below my belly, holding myself in an inner knowing that this will work out. Meanwhile, he continues the healing. While working with him, I feel surrounded by a magnificent aura. Suddenly, something changes. "You've done it! You've done it!" he shouts in jubilation. He's almost jumping up in the air. It's an incredible sight!

Suprised that I haven't woken up, and absolutely amazed by witnessing this event, I run up to him, giving this crazy cartoon-like character a big hug. "What's your name", I ask excitedly. "Ducky Johnson", he replies. I smile, and then wake up.

Comments: I was so amazed by the sheer beauty of this whole event. It was truly incredible, and gave me alot of faith in the true power of Reiki. I told my sister this story, and while she wasn't definite about the nature of the event, she was genuinely appreciative that I would try and help her. Next time, I am going to 'Seek a Level One Attunement'.

I'm atuned to a number of different healing energy systems, including Reiki.  I have soreness in my legs and find that these techniques are good for dealing with the pain though it does take time to do healing this way and as such ibuprofen does provide the same effect more quickly.
