How do you see 'God'?

I think the idea of a God needs to be redefined. All religions have some God in one way or another but the way in which they approach the idea of a higher power is vastly different. In the modern world I don't think the idea of a man sitting in the sky watching everything you do, will survive very well in coming times. It seems like a way of introducing the idea to children but not nearly detailed or realistic enough to survive in an adult mind.

There is no right or wrong because neither way can be proven, so let's try and steer away from who's crazy and who's not. Try to dissect this problem by discussing it in a thorough manner.

I suppose the first thing to establish is whether or not you believe one exists and so how do you argue that position.
The second thing is whether you believe in God or not, it's a part of our reality, so what purpose does it serve to society? Real or fake.

I can imagine that all life serves the purpose of the sensory organs for god's process of becoming omniscient.

In the spirit of the cliche', "we are all a part of god"

The direct analogy is our relationship to the eyes as being a part of the body, but they are not "us" in respect to identity and consciousness.

The evolution of life creates the evolution of god's omniscience and ability to explore god's creation.

Maybe a paradox where god is omniscient and still learning at the same time.

I like the idea of God still having to expand in whatever ways he can. There needs to be some mystery still left in things.
Perhaps God is really the highest level of understanding. So when you can understand everything, you say God is in all things. Omnipresent. This really helps integrate the idea of God into ourselves because we have the power to understand more than other species, we call ourselves 'higher animals'. It also explains a higher body of knowledge.

I don't remember voting, so when I tried, the results were already there. Not sure if everyone viewing was able to vote.

I was going to vote "More than one god", only to acknowledge the Hindu, Sikh concept that a hierarchy of gods preside over the multiple number of physical universes and higher dimensions.
The idea being that souls can experience being god like on a number of levels. So that the god like experience brings the soul to a closer understanding of ultimate consciousness of the creator through further evolution.

If i remember correctly its brahma, the creator. In the Hindu holy trinity its Brahma(creator), Vishnu(perserver) and Siva(destroyer)

I didnt vote, because i didnt know this was up.

Personally, I dont think God can be understood, but I 'see' God as infinate though.

That's what I thought originally. Especially nowadays a lot of people don't really have 'set' boundaries around their personal religion. They are often evolving and changing as the person matures.
