Hello Im wondering if Astral Projection is Haraam(forbidden). Some people say it is because while your soul is out of your body jinns/demons can enter it and potentially posses you. However others says its halal(ok) because many prophets did this to talk to god. Im just intrested in talking to my Qareen If I can through astral projection.

I said "Islamic/Jewish/Christian" viewpoint because all of the religions are connected and I have a faith in all of them but mainly Islam.

I just joined im a noob please give me some info

If it's not initiated by God or similar, it's probably regarded as withcraft or magic. You probably know how the Bible deals with witches?

any individual "occult" techniques threaten the position of organised religion, especially their leaders in power

and that is why they forbid it, threaten people who do so with punishment or anathemas, and spread disinformation (such as posession) about it

From a religious standpoint it is. Because your relying on yourself(Subconsious) which is seen as a form of Magick. Abrahamic Religions teach to rely on the Divine not yourself or any form of Magick(Subconsious Manipulations)

OBE's are not any form of Occult Practices. Matter of fact it's completely 100% Natural. But i can see why it's misunderstood or forbidden.

They are different types of Jinns. I have experienced a form of possession for at least 6 months of my life and it's unlike anything I ever experienced before. For Some Maybe OBE's are a gateway into being vulnerable for possessions. It's happened differently with me though.

You will find a lot of good info here, on developing your AP ability. It may be forbidden for it's own reasons in the abrahamic religions, but it's completely natural.

yes, I agree, that's why I put occult in "..."
I also refered to the core meaning of the word (concealed, kept hidden) then. Since you can buy hundreds of how-to books nowadays and find multitudes of articles, websites and faqs/threads in forums like this about it on the internet, no one who wants to find out about it can still claim that it is "hidden knowledge".

Hi tajtas.  From a Christian standpoint, it depends on what branch of christianity.  I've spoken to ministers that are fine with it and others that consider it dangerous (they also consider meditation dangerous).
But the idea that it leaves your body empty is mistaken- there is never an instance in which your soul leaves your body- if it could happen you would die.  What happens in AP is that you connect with that part of your energy that can transcend time and space, and experience the environment that way.
This is more evident when you get more experience and start to perceive bilocation- then you realize that it's what you were already doing, but consciously.

I'm not aware of that any of the books forbids it, and even if it was forbidden who cares. Religion is like the plague anyway, stay clear of it.
Priests of hippocratic love talk of peace and Christ, Power is their only goal. Now they all shall die.

I think it depends on what you do in the astral. As long as you follow the same religious rules you follow in real waking life, then how can it be wrong? I wouldn't want you to get involved with something that makes you feel guilty. So if you do things in astral that are forbidden according to your religion, you may have a hard time mentally. There are astral projectors who are very religious, they tend to have religious experiences, like Swedenborg. Swedenborg has written many books about astral that involve a lot of religious experiences like visiting heaven & hell, talking to angels, etc. I think religious leaders tell you not to go into astral out of fear that you will lose your religion which is very possible. You might just realize that you can have a relationship with God without religion, then they would be out of a job.

The question needs to be clarified.  Do you mean religion in the eyes of man (fallible) or religion in the eyes of God (infallible)?

Human interpretation - yes, AP is wrong.  Its occult magick.
God - no, AP is just another avenue to know God.

FYI - there are numerous accounts in the Bible (sanctioned by and often involving God) that some people believe are OBEs.
be awesome.

Well the 10 commandments came from a higher state of consciousness which means there was some sort of consciousness expansion going on. Jesus and many wise philosophers astral projected. It's a spiritual ability and the reason religions may prohibit it, is to gain control of the masses. That's why the Roman Catholic Church took out Reincarnation and replaced it with Heaven and Hell to control the masses with fear. It is important to keep in mind that religion is completely man made and misinterpreted by those who seek power. Anything natural such as Meditation, Astral Projection, and psychic abilities are very useful tools for personal growth.

What makes you think that the 10 Commandments were of a higher order of consciousness?  They seem pretty run of the mill to me.

skiax

The commandments seem geared to protection of property, whether that be critters or women or wheat.

It's BS!

Friends,

Decided to jump into this topic and give my .2 worth. Reading the previous posts about religion, upbringing, faith, practice and worship. If astral projection is legitimate testing by books or beliefs you need to be look further by experience. If that is the case then we would never know what is right or wrong if we took everything by instructions.

I had the opportunity to discuss OBE / NDE (near death experiences) with many religious instructors, priests and people who have experienced. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Indian Native practices, beliefs - in the grand scheme the consistencies of the elements found in OBE / NDE are there and can't be ignored. Just because we live on the other side of the world, doesn't mean the other is going about their beliefs incorrect manner. We are all equal and should practice being open to learning, going outside the box and understanding each other. God, Allah, Yahweh has a million names. Not one religion is invalid.

Recently, I just finished a book on evidence of NDE by Jeffrey Long found at: http://www.nderf.org/ In one of this chapters, Jeffrey discussed religion and NDE's. What I really liked about his writing was the scope of information based on people who have experienced the NDE from all walks of life. All reported the constant values of love, spirit guides, peace, tunnel etc.. but with different interpretations of events witnessed. Religion in itself is personal to the one's who practice, belief and faith to connect with God. If we take time to study, learn and grow understanding different religions, practices it helps us to be more well rounded respecting others practices.

I have been projecting for over 20+ years now. Am I perfect because I follow Christianity "No" but I try to do what I can to make this place on earth better for family, friends, and the world around me. I have friends who have projected who are Jewish, Muslim and they are the most loving, caring and good honest citizens of the world.

Point I am trying to get across is that *everyone* has it in them to project. It all depends on how we utilize this experience to better ourselves and others in our world. Fighting and Bickering about who's right or wrong based on religion is just a endless vicious circle that will never promote advancement.

All religions are welcomed to the AP forum - We can learn so much from each other and compare thru experiences of OBE / NDE and views.

Hello brothers and sisters,

I am new to this forum. I have researched a lot about Astral Projection in Islam particularly. Astral Projection is a common practice amongst most muslim sufi masters. It is not prohibited (Haraam) according to Sufi Islam but it is recommended to find a Sufi master and then perform and learn under his/her guidance. I hope it clarifies things a little.

Love to all,
Melleck

There is a bit of misinformation in there. Please show the facts that demonstrate how " That's why the Roman Catholic Church took out Reincarnation and replaced it with Heaven and Hell to control the masses with fear".

The RC recently made Padre Pio a Saint based on his miracles and documented ability to project a visible double to distant locations on a regular and routine basis and render assistance to those in need. I believe he died in 1968. He was a cloistered monk who left his monastery on only very rare occasions. From psychic clairvoyance to healing to manifesting physical objects to levitating, etc., the evidence shows that this man may be the greatest Magician to walk the Earth in our lifetimes, imho.

The Catholic Church does not ban nor forbid what is being referred to as 'witchcraft' here in these discussions. In fact, much of the ritual and many forms of Catholic prayer easily fit under the general description of witchcraft in a broad sense. (Using incantation/prayer/chant with willful intent to produce a physical outcome).  It is the basic form of Black Magic that is forbidden. That which psychically violates the personal space of others and interferes with free choice is almost universally repugnant.

and just FYI -- I believe Sufism is considered Heretical practice by both Sunni and Shia authorities.

word to that rudy.

though, what the church actually approves of and what the people understand about their religion are often to different things.  the church may be down, but for the "masses" it may be misunderstood and chastised.
