This is the new discussion that is going on between mustardseed and wisp. I am moving these posts from another thread.

I do have OBEs and Lucid dreams and have had them since childhood. In my later years they have become stronger and I found out by coincidence , not Reading books how I could make them start and go away. My main question is this. WHY. ???? Whats the plan? So far I have through that been able to relate to this board and certainly have a deeper understanding for folks who have them too and are scared by them. Maybe that is why. I do not desire to go into the Astral all that much though I can project almost at will.

Mustardseed,
That's pretty amazing what you know, and what you can do. Could you be stirring up some confusion in the mix?
I'm just guessing, but have you ever tried giving up being the rescuer and/or the comforter? At what level this would be, I wouldn't know. This is a tough one to figure, it may take some time. [written by wisp]

Dear Wisp
I am not sure I understand your post, could you repeat it in a different form. About giving up being the rescuer/comforter, you certainly have a point. I realised long ago that this is such a deep instinkt in me and I often tried to stop being that way. I never seemed to succed and have come to accept that as "the way I am"(I know...it sounds like a cop out!!) Anyway It fits quite well into my beliefsystem with Jesus and all that and also having brought up many many children and having been a Dad for the past 28 yrs. Maybe it is just something I cling to becourse of it being the comfortable way. I dont really know. What do you think.?

I think these posts bring up a very good discussion of "why we are the way we are," "why we feel compelled to do what we do" and "why it is SO important to us."

Lets see where this one goes...

Mustardseed,
I don't have any particular opinions or views on the subject really. It's just that I've always noticed a lot of people are like that [:)]. It seems that I can't get away with doing that.  Another source seems to veer me away from that role. Personally, I'm not all that maternal. I've been trying to get my son to "fly the coup", and I can't seem to make it happen . Nothing seems to work. I'm thinking, maybe some things are best left alone. However, since trying all I know to do, I discovered something that may have to do with the situation. My son an I seem to share energy some way. It's as if he can't move on for some reason. I can't move on because he can't move on. It's come down to, I'm in limbo! [:)]   Since identifying this, I've noticed this same kind of energy (if that is what it is), is happening with this other mother and son, but their's seem to be manifesting by alternating migrain headaches between them. Any insight into this sort of thing?

Dear Wisp
Actually I think I do, at least I have a idea.I have seen this many times and  I believe that it sometimes may be due to a shared neg influence. Often women tend to make their adolessent boys a type of mate and the girls a type of girlfriend, and actually rely on them for emotional support. Thereby establishing a bond that in nature is very different from a parent child relationship and more like a partnership. This is especially strong if the woman is single or in a frustrating relationship. This empowers the adolesent and can cause a very painful situation. It also confuses the adult. The relationship is supplying her (it seems to be mainly a female thing) with emotional support and weakens their resolve. That kind of relationship can go on for years and turn quite bad. I am sure you have seen the mother and adult son who lives as a married couple type of situation. It is a reversal of roles and I believe it is neg inspired. A sign of the times we live in if you will. These days due to influences from all around the parential role is eroded. Absolutes are questioned and morals are all but gone. Therer are some very interesting passages in the Bible regarding the end. It says that in the end days "women and children shall rule over men" . I believe it is coming to pass. I can find the references if you are interested.

Hi Mustardseed,
Thanks for the insight. Actually I've always looked at the end day predictions regarding children about how they turn against their parents. This I've seen. They (the children)make use the court systems, regimental left wingers, liberals, and other like sorts, to use to their advantage (more than the youth do this). It has gotten to the point it's a laugh to the youth in order to control parents. With the added fact of divided homes, this intent is not a difficult task to accomplish. I think women have taken control of men in a similar fashion through the same channels as children. Theirs being in the form of sex control, child support laws, sexual harrassment issues, and other easy to tackle and conquer issues for her own purpose, in  view of this present society. The justice system is being used for foul purposes in many ways. Chip...chip...chipping away of the old institutions. So far, I'm not very impressed with what it's being replaced with.

My situation is more along the lines of a turf claiming. I had left my son in charge of the place once upon a time. After being gone for an extended period of time, I returned to find he didn't want to give up his "turf". It's been a battle in every sense of the word. Eventually I established my ground again [:)], but it's as if my son has become part of the place. It's no longer a turf issue, but more of a connection he has with the place (Maybe the mother with the son with the alternating migrains was a bad comparison).  What appears to be negative, actually is not. But, I may not be seeing it for what it is, being so close to the situation.

Sure, I would like your references about the things you wrote about.
Thanks again.

Hi Wisp
Now what I am referring here is only one way of intrepretation. The verses are from Isaiah. To understand it properly, this school of doctrine believes that the Jews that the Prophets were talking about , (that would be the major and minor prophets) are really the Christians Churches of today. In rejecting the true Spirit of God and the revelations of His Spirit in this generation, they have become the Jews of old. It is a very simple way of seeing it. The farasees and saduchees are the various Christian factions and the true believers are Jesus being crucified anew. If you are interested I can send you the total doctrinal basis but that is a bit involved. In any case using this methodology, Isaiah was prophesying to the Jews back then but on a deeper level to the people of today, hence the referances to the end of days.

Isa 3:4 And I will give children [to be] their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

Isa 3:5   And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient(elders), and the base against the honourable.

Isa 3:8   For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings [are] against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

Isa 3:9   The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide [it] not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

It goes into the women too but try looking it up if you are interested.

Hey thanks MustardSeed,
Yeh, it does seem to say what can be applied to today's times. I'm not much into the understanding of bible scripture, and especially the old testament. My strength in the bible is more along the lines of personal empowerment and enlightenment. I think there are social issues in the bible, but I haven't any personal experience with it myself.

I see the pharisees and the saducees as the government and religious groups collectively. I'm a bit rusty on the bible right now, but I at one time, had a pretty good take of it in the New Testament. I've never been drawn to what the old testament has to say other than Psalms and Proverbs. These books have been a good source of strength and courage for me.

The scriptures you gave me seem to apply to women as well. I find the bible has always contained the truth. It seems I always see it in my reality (in the now) before I will pinpoint it in the bible.

If it's no trouble, I would like the additional scriptures about women which you have mentioned, thanks.

I'm presently, through centering, attempting to learn more about microcosm/macrocosm concepts (used loosely for lack of a better word). I think this is working well for me. I spend most of my time in synchronicity, it seems reading signs is what I spend a lot of time doing during my waking hours. I'm learning a lot this may. I'm presently mapping my past and future, it's very exciting.
Religion definitely fits in someway, it's just I can't focus on religion too much because of my latest journey. Otherwise, I would be a lot more verbal about the moral, ethical, and social issues of today. The humanists have certainly had their chance at the important issues, they fail as far as I'm concerned. Science is an aspect I'm looking at now. Wow! Unbelievable things being dreamed-up by these minds. Many good things, but unfortunately, in the area of the human body (living [:)]),and in behavior and psychology, failure in a big way. This area of science is in desparate need of spiritual intervention.

Yes I agree, but 'spiritual intervention' does not necessarily mean 'Christian intervention'. Christianity in no way has a monopoly over spirituality, despite what their adherents would say.

Who said they did?. Maybe not but it is a very central tenant in the Christian faith and seems less important in some (buddhist?) and almost nonexisting in others(Hinduism?). In my belief it is not possible to do a selfless deed unless inspired by God. If God is LOVE then everytime we love care share and even discipline and warn which are other aspects of Love , we partake of Gods Spirit. We as humans are capable of loving without knowing we are accesing Gods power. Almost like turning on a faucet thinking we make that water flow , when it is really the pressure from the resavoir of God that does it through us.

Mustardseed,

I must ask--did all of your insults and personal attacks on me come from the Spirit of Love?  Do you believe you were accessing God's Spirit when you typed all those comments?

"Knowing something" Mustardseed and then not acting on it is the same as if you never knew it at all...and it doesn't matter if you have had a few beers or not.

Hi Beth, I am not sure. I never felt I attacked you as much as you felt attacked. I felt we both said things that were somewhat harsh. Now, you know the Bible and I see that you have a quite defined expectation of how I should react. Most non Christians have a much higher standard of behaviour for Christians than they do themselves. By the standard maybe not but maybe yes!

I find you a very smug hypocrite demanding certain behaviours from others that you yourself are not willing to live by, and I said it loud!!.Jesus said "scribes and faracees Hypocrites, you lay burdens on people you yourself are not willing to bear". True we might both have said things and reacted emotionally. However I do no feel like a victim as you do. I generally do not attach a lot of attention to what people think about me . I guess I am used to being rediculed. You on the other hand seem to. You also seem to have no certain standard that you live by. You can allow yourself to say nasty things to me, as well as feel victimised and there is no book that I can point you to. You are not falling short of any standard and it seems you know it. You make up the standard as you go along and as "you get to know God".

All that to say I dont know wether I spoke out of order. I will pray about it. But again your post seem to be a loaded question, only meant to put down, through claiming innocence and pushing "guilt" and as usual attacking the Bible. I must say you are surprising me as you continue to "mock" the wisdom in it, as you lift it up in your research.

Mustardseed,

You are right.  I did make that last post when my feelings were hurt, and yes I do care what people think about me, even you.  It was wrong of me to "spit" back at you. I must learn to turn the other cheek. Please accept my apology.

Absolutely Beth, I do. I guess you are writing your book now and dont come here a lot and you know the funniest thing......I miss you. Ha. How silly. But I do . I find you a facinating woman and a very knowledgable one at that. This forum is very difficult for me. There seem to be so many ways to misunderstand and no way to give a hug and make up. No way to look into someones eyes! I think I am getting to know you a bit and it seems that to my suprise......we are much alike. Anyway its been a while since you left, I prayed for you today and will continue to do so. A prayer that you will be able to "find the words" and explain what you are so full of, with wisdom and without closing doors! Selah! (you know what that means!)

All the best

The AlphaOmega

I never really undestood "modern" religion.  Religion isn't exactly a new concept.  There are so many out there, but I don't believe any one of them are better then another.  The importance in them lies in the teachings, not in the label put on them or the church that one belongs to.  Anything that teaches about Love and respect for fellow human beings and spiritual self improvement has something of value for everyone.

I think that some religions have some truth but that one religion has the most truth, or is closest to the truth. It is of the utmost importance to search and find the one that is closest to the truth about God and spirituality as even being off by a little could be fatal.

There's no such thing as modern christianity, since the whole history is so tainted by murder, war, censorship, sex (the bible is a very sexy book, I don't know why christians are so uptight about sex) sacrafice, etc.  My favorite verses are about how we should enslave our neighbor and force them to be christians or kill them.  how about the verses saying how we should be content to be slaves since our reward is in heaven?

If we all need faith and hope, lets find it wherever.  Some people find it in relgion, others in terrorism.  If it gives me faith and hope, let me strap bombs on my body and blow up whoever I think is my enemy.

Just don't hurt my feelings.

Since they are your favorite verses, then you can post them for all to see.

Hey there!

I am setting this thread up for "general" Modern Christianity chat.  It will be "loosely moderated" but hard-core insults, unreasonable and unnecessary negative posts WILL be deleted.

I am going to start it off by moving a few threads from the "End Of Days" thread where it has gotten a bit off topic.  It is a good trail of thought however, and probably applies to a lot of us, so I am going to place it here.

These threads are now all moving along quite nicely everyone!!  Thanks for the cooperation!![:D]

Peace,[:)]
