Yup. Believe what you want. Anyone [affiliaited with the church] who tells you otherwise is being ignorant. Your beliefs are yours and yours only. Again, if people are telling you what to believe, they're insecure with their own beliefs and just want others to feel that way too.

oh ok i was just being sure

Hi Freefaller,  I'm kinda in the same boat as you.

I don't see why not either.  I've had dreams and visions which are true to real life events.  The bible does not condemn these.

Also, I don't like how all these christians go around making out everything is the devil since it is a very negative and unopen view of the world.  This is not a good trap to fall into since it seems to create the view that the 'devil' is everywhere while God is in the background.

I'm currently rethinking a lot of stuff that I used to believe.

But I will say this.  In the bible faith is defined as "things unseen".  Could it be the non-physical?  Plus with faith the size of a mustard seed you can "move mountains".  Sounds a bit like how the Astral is described.  Its really just seeing things from a different perspective not distorting beliefs (which I hope this isn't seen as). I've seen this question before, and the answer is... ABSOLUTELY.  Psychic abilities can be used for good or evil, that's free will.  But of course you can believe in Christ and have premonitions.  Christ knew the future.  I'm definately not comparing anyone to Him, but human beings are amazingly spiritual, it's our true nature.  To be able to tap into paranormal things is not only possible, but possible for all of us.  Some people are naturally psychic, but those people, knowing how to use their abilities, can teach others how to develop them within themselves.

One thing that disturbes me about many churches, they expect you to belive exactly as They do. and if you dont, well you have that ever-present threatining idea of "hell" Looming over your consciousness.
in turn Millions of minds are being incuraged to Stop using their minds (and hearts) and just Belive in what they are told to belive in. i say, belive what you wish! thats the Beauty of being in this reality. No one can Make you belive something.
with that in mind. i quote. "Think For Yourself, Question Authority."

Hi FreeFaller,

I gotta agree with all that's been said here so far. Three are many people on this site who are christians and have embraced the psychic gifts they have discovered withing themselves.

I left the christian church after being in it for 16 years. During that time I had many of my dreams and deep seated beliefs trodden on by uncaring ministers who were shackled by church dogma that, as Taalnar appropriately mentioned, demonises anything that is outside of church rulings or understanding.

I saw a good friend, one of the most caring, compassionate and wonderful ladies I've ever met, kicked out of a church for professing she had psychic gifts. To me, she was more a christian than that minister ever will be.

Jesus spoke of freedom - as long as you seek to do good for youself and others around you in a loving and compassionate way. Most true psychics are in complete agreement with this, as are all true spiritual teachers. These psychic abilities that we have I believe are all from the one source that is called God anyway. Denying them is denying the extent of God's powers.

Bottom line, do what in the depths of your heart you know to be right for you.

Regards,
James.

bottom line of christianity is that a christian should seek God (through the christ). anything that gets in the way of that is pretty much idolatry, HOWEVER that's not to say that you can't do stuff as well as seeking God.

to say that you can't seek God and learn psychic things is to use the same logic as saying that you can't seek God and still learn how to bake. and it's clearly shown in the bible that people are allowed to do things in their lives that have nothing to do with seeking God, but it is encouraged that (and said that christians should ultimately) we should eventually learn to seek God and His Ways in all that we do, and to be happy with the good gifts that God has given us [:)] (food, money, help, support, etc that He has given to us. not to be confused with the things that we seek out and gain for ourselves, although we can still be happy with those things as long as they don't get in our way of seeking God).

what is His Will? well, you'd have to ask Him for the full extent of it, but the basics are as James and others have said: Love [:)].

I have had this problem too. My parents are Catholic and told my I was full of it for the abilities I have. However the whole book of revelations in the bible is written from visions and also it talks about jesus having visions, so why can't other people right? It's like everyone else has said believe what you want and if the church people tell you different, then they are ignorant. For instance I had to do this pre wedding council thing through this guy so my wifes parents church would wed us seems that was the only condition and they were going to do it for free. Well my wife told him well he has gifts in this convo we were having and I told him I have visions of the future and telepathic abilities and he was in so disbelief right away and was asking if I do drugs. I was like no and I was like hey its all over the bible of people having visions and telepathy and I can't and well I got him there.
Well I am breathing so I guess I am still alive even though the signs seem to tell me otherwise -- TOOL
