Hey all,

Some of us (maybe even more than not!) have had religious OBE's/Phasings/Lucid Dreams, etc., in that religious themes/symbols from either your own root religion, or another, were presented as provocative details.

If you want, share those experiences here!  I have certainly had a few (   ) but I will let others start with theirs first!

Thanks for sharing!

well heres 3 sofar as I posted today in other post :P
I usally write them out in a book and draw stick pictures with it as my drawing is not on par yet ;)

QuoteI received 3 images when i was starting down this road was rather scary if you think of the fullest of there meanings.

in short:
God was on one side with this HUGE wall that was made out of religion blocking him out completely with as us on the other side. there was how ever small holes starting to form which was starting to let through God to us.

There was this vast number of people walking down this broad path to the end. on the sides of the path was preachers from various beliefs who was teaching their point of view onto them. They in the end became shackled into it not able to think for themselves just going onwards. Right next to that was a smaller road that was really difficult to follow. The people on that one was very few and was struggling to get somewhere but the more they asked, the more they explored and thinked for themselves they eventually got through - they could however see how the people on the broad path was being shackled by the preachers, but they the shackled could not see that they saw the few people through that they were made to think - blasphemers and evil. In the end narrow was nirvana and the broad one was just pit full that never ended.

I saw a priest. in one hand he had a bible which he was preaching from to a few people and other hand he had a bloodied sword stabbed through the thought of a begging person. He was both preaching and killing at same time.

hmmm bit heavy :)

The drawings you have would be good to see when completed, it conjured up a hive of activity in my mind.
Question: what is it to reach "a state of nirvana" is this Buddhism, i can remember watching/reading something in the past that related it to ceasing to be.

I had a dream related to this recently, i was in a old city/town and there was this black lady who was playing a cello in the street waiting for her friends got chating and she started talking about her life philosophically and mentioned nirvana she invited me to a concert it was all really posh upper class well to do people, concert hadn't started and there was tables with food and wine that i proceeded towards when one of these more affluent people a middle age women said hello and asked me how to play the piano and invited me to sit with her husband and friends.
Once sat down i looked over and the black girl was sat on another table i really wanted to go over and ask her more questions but didn't want to upset the older lady who invited me to sit with her and the dream faded out, really nice old church and cathedral, very scenic dream.

Its maybe not a very religious astral experience but maybe somebody would like to say/explain more about reaching nirvana.

look forward to any reply

Symbols are not static...they have different meanings for different people.  Religious symbols are just those that are culturally connected to a religion. If the context was nirvana, ubi, and there was a church present in the dream...well, that would be an experience with religious symbolism!!

On Nirvana itself...I know little to nothing (nothing being 'nothing'-- not 'NOTHING'.... )  But I am sure someone here will be able to help you...if not...don't let that stop you from investigating other sources--i.e., as the dream is showing you: excuse yourself politely from present company and go on over and talk to the nirvana lady....

hi all

Looked up on ask Jeeves(nice and quick)

Nirvana.
Hindus  and  Buddhists  believe  in  a  state  of  Nirvana  or  Nibbana.
Nirvana  is  defined  as  a  transcendent  state  in  which  there  is  no  suffering  or  desire  and  no  sense  of  self.  The  origin  of  this  word  is  from  the  Sanskrit   nirvãna   where  nirvã   means  'be  extinguished'.    On  attaining  nirvana,  a  person  is  released  from  the  repeated  cycles  of   reincarnation  and  suffering.

So this makes sense to me of ryuji's narrow path of Nirvana and the endless pit of squabble and pain!

spot on. exactly what it ment for me

the symbols sometimes are bit hard to give words to from a vision/dream/obe so nivana best fitted it for me :)

not sure which these mean or fit in tho 0_o
A priest of christian church was in a park with me. he handed me a white bag of runes. i did contest how ever is this possible that a man of the christian believe would just give me a bag of runes, but he confendently gave it to me while having a expression of goodwill.

i was been hunted down by some religous sect who caught me and crucified  me for being a pagan. (i did experiance this in full blown detail hehe and awoke in cold sweat with fast heart rate)

a devil standing on the ground with a overhead pentagram talkin to god about when its time for the end of the world and he have havoc (sure this was christian inspired)

interisting topic :P
