Technically, it's fiction, but it's more often referred to as just a religious text so as not to get anybody offended.
i had a similiar topic posted just like this one accept it was belief or disbelief in it. in my oppinion i believe the bible is bothe fact and fiction because out of everything they wrote at least one tihing had to be true, so ya i think its bothe.

If you will read the posts in the Modern Christianity Section under "Debating Christianity" you will see a lot of posts on this same question.
If you want to learn about how man did indeed create scripture, and why it does not really conform to modern day Christian Doctrine, see the thread "Use of Allegory and Metaphor in Scripture" in this section. Several of the other threads also talk about things that can be found in scripture that DO address the things that the Church has been remiss about. There is even a new thread on Quantum Theology. Read through these and you will learn a lot about what the Bible really says!
Also, a recent raging fire was just put out because of the very question, so if you want to post your thoughts on this feel free to use that thread.
So, please understand why I am putting a lock on this one. It is a wildfire waiting to happen, and we already have that other fire contained and available for further discussion in the "Debate" thread.

What do you think? Is the Bible reliable or not. It was written by man, not by God. It was written by superstitious beings who lacked much knowledge of modern science, quantum physics, and well...were the type of people who feared eclipses. The Bible has many contradictions in it. Ex: In one part it says men and women are created equally, and then in another it says women cannot teach or preach, only men can. Would a God actually ever say this? And what is this deal about New Age. White magick, tarot, they can be used for great and good things. If he didn't want us to find out about it and use it then why did he put it on this Earth? Why does He hate homosexuality so much? Love is a gift no matter if heteorsexual or homosexual. If He hates it so much why does then why put it on the Earth? Why does God tell leaders to kill their own people? That is killing, isn't it. Yes if you live an almost perfect life you go to heaven. But why is it that hard, and for a little thing you end up burning in hell? Now I do not know what the Qur'an and Old Testament Say so please fill me in. What do you say, "Bible-fact or fiction?"
