About 4-5 years ago, I had a dream (???). Or something.
I was asleep and I remember all the sudden I was in a place that was brighter than bright (yet it was not hurting my eyes). I was surrounded by so many little children, all of different races. I looked up and all the kids were climbing on a seated figure who was seated on something (or nothing...just seated). I couldn't see the figure's face, it was a bright radiant light as was the white "clothing". I looked at myself and I too was a child, also climbing on the lap of who I understood as Jesus (as was the Biblical story of the same scenario). I could hear the kids laughing and talking to Jesus. The feeling was so real and yet so indescribable....beautiful peace is the best I can come up with. I looked up at Jesus, put my head on His arm, and as soon as I realized I was "there", I woke up only to find myself seriously crying (from the incredible feeling...and I am not an emotional fella!) and still feeling the immense peaceful feeling.
I seriously think it was more than a "dream" or whatever it was. I have had many episodes of sleep paralysis before but I don't remember if that happened or not leading up to the "dream", nor do I remember any vibrations (AP). Wierd. And yet so real.
Any thoughts??

Dreams, sometimes are the unconscious mind trying to tell us something, anything out of place happening in your life right now? Perhaps religion related?

Hey thanks for responding.
No, nothing wierd or negative spiritually for me lately (or during the time when the "dream" happened a few years ago). I've always felt strong in my faith. I know dreams can feel so damn real sometimes, and maybe that event was a case in point and nothing else. But wow, it felt SO real and to wake up with that exact feeling and for it to manifest itself in pleasant tears of joy while waking up, wow, no explanation I guess. Awesome.
Thanks.

Jimi,

Yes!  It may well be just the thing that you needed to experience at the time: no indepth explanation needed!

But as we are all finding out, reality, whether in this focus of awareness in a waking state, or in another focus of awareness in a less awake state, is full of symbols that are open to interpretation.  This is especially the case in what we experience in a dream/astral/Focus Level experience.

The best interpretor, in my opinion, is always the person that had the experience.  All anyone else can do is provide possible interpretations that may or may not fit the bill.  Asking for input is ALWAYS a good thing however, for we are so close to our own lives that we oftentimes cannot see 'our forest for our own trees'.  If outside suggestions 'feel right' to the experiencer then they have perhaps helped to interpret the experience.

Now, all of that said, by the content of your experience being so biblically based, then the narrative stories about the relationship between Jesus and children must have some sort of meaning for you--if not readily apparent, however, then perhaps you should read the pertinent scriptures to see if there is something else in the stories that you need to consider.  For example, the narratives refer to Jesus as 'blessing' 'children' which Jesus uses as an example of humble acceptance:

Mark 10:13-16:
People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

Matthew 18:2-6:
He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. "And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

But other biblical references to children may also be pertinent:

Proverbs 20:11: "Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right."

Ecclesiastes 12:1:
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"--

Maybe these few references will stir something within you and help you find the answer that you seek...

Peace,
Beth
