45 minutes?  And your name is god?  I've heard god is a bit more speedy.

That is part of the point that all of those child like beliefs that everything is possible, and that you can do anything fade away over time and sometimes by painful means.  Most children and teens go through a point in there lives where they think that they are perfect.  The first 3 stanzas show what I am getting at about being perfect and then the last stanza is a sharp contrast which shows the outcome.  The view in the first 3 stanzas is backwards to what society tells us we are.  Then the final one shows us the reality.  "Backwards" was something I tried to incorporate into this poem.  If you did not notice the title is spelled out back words by the first letter of each line.

Any more comments, or suggestions of what could be improved.

Yes KP, I am slow.

What can I say.. you inspired me [;)]
I AM
Incarnated amidst madness

Here is another poem I wrote after reading the book Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard.  It is a simplistic poem, but since most people around the world have different opinions about the afterlife or lack thereof I thought this would be appropriate for this forum.  For those of you who have seen the movie Gladiator starring Russell Crowe I stole the line shadows and dust from it.

"Time is an Illusions, ... Life"

Humans are but shadows and dust
Insignificant
Meaningless

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
Purposeless
Confused

Theater of Absurdity
No value in life
No sorrow in death

Shadows and Dust
Come and go
No trace of their existence

Such is the fate of mankind.

I wrote this as an in class essay in my English class.  My teacher really liked it even though she said it did not really answer the prompt, but oh well.  I think that many people can identify with the thoughts in this poem.  I have not revised it since I first wrote it, and I only had 45 minutes in which to write so please share any thoughts or criticism you might have regarding it

GUESS WHO i AM

my name is god
absolute

important

omnipotent and -- omniscient
hardworking
well-rounded

surrounded by chaos
scorned for my views
excluded
usurped of my dignity
grown from adolescense
