HI,

What does your singature mean?

I am not clear how your nap differed from you old style of falling asleep in the zone. CAn you elaborate on the differences?

I often will have more success if I meditate before bed and fall asleep in the zone, as you say. I also get sleep - depriveed over time from this. So I try to do it during a time when I am not 'needed' much elsewhere, knowing I will be less useful to friends and family during that time.

Other tips that elp me are dream journaling and dwelling on OBE during the day. Lots of energy - raising, etc.

Last success I had, I just planned on being tired the next day, sure enough I was but it was worth it.

Hi Patty,

When I fall asleep in the ultra-relaxed state I basically try to feel like
Im passed out ( I guess it feels like youre out of phase with your physical
body ).
When I fall asleep in "the zone" it is like my consciousness is focused
inside of my head, I think ( as well as someone who's falling asleep
can think ) that when I am falling asleep its accompanied by lots of
noise. Also sleeping in the zone is preceded by intensive thought
activity.
When Im falling asleep in the relaxed state I try to not have any thoughts
( although I like imagining pleasant places, and also being submerged ).

Because I dont get rested I think that falling asleep in the zone is somehow
biologically wrong ( I try to use my intuition a lot http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_big.gif" border=0> ) because you should
wake up refreshed after sleep and not tired.

Patty, my signature doesnt mean anything http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>
it just looked cool to me.

P.S.
I agree that keeping a dream journal is great, only Im too paranoid that
someone would find it if I had one [paranoid smiley].

I've found that dream recall is easier during naps or on the weekends, or anytime you don't have to get up suddenly (I hate alarm clocks. you always remember a dream for one second, and that's it). But when you don't have to get up suddenly, you can awaken in a half-asleep state, dwell on (and write down!) the dream, and even slip back in to it (or even replay it! exactly the same or going back to the beginning and rewritting it!).
However, one nice advantage of night dreams is that they are more likely, from my experience, to be recalled at, say 6pm the next day.
Anouther nice experience is to start with a fantasy, focus on it until it becomes dream like, have it turn to a lucid dream, then a regular dream, then back to lucid latter on.

Hi everyone,
I dont know If you have considered this, but yesterday I found out that
the manner in which you fall asleep affects the degree of lucidity.

I took a nap in the middle of the day in OBE-style-total-relaxation manner
which involves (you guessed it) completely relaxing all your muscles,
clearing your head, "depressurizing"(?) your head and basically either
imagining yourself below your physical body or focusing ( in a really
relaxed way ) your consciousness in the back of your head.

During the nap I could feel my physical body in the background http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>
and when I woke up I could remember my dream for a fraction of a
second but then my mind got wiped.

I fell asleep in the same manner at night, only in my dream I saw something
funny and somehow consciously decided to remember it ( I guess at the
time I didnt decide to take full control of my dream ). In the morning I could
remember my dream VERY well ( and it was also very connected with
my day to day thoughts --> a kind of "stop messing around, this is what
youre really thinking" kind of dream ).

Its also very obvious to me that if I fall asleep trying to project or "inner sound"
meditate I dont remember my dreams and I feel tired. In the days
when I used to meditate every night ( a recipe for sleep deficit and biological
clock mess-up ) I used to call this "falling asleep in the zone" because
I always had psychodelic dreams.

I posted this to give some advice and I also would like to hear from you
about the most effective technique of falling asleep that you do http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0> and
any similar experiences.

Take care
