Clap hands prior to healing?

  One large clap of the hands is not unusual at all for a practioner to start with before a healing session.  It stimulates the energy flow and also opens the hand chakras.  It's quite common in fact.  And for you to "intuitivly" feel that you should do this, leads me to believe that you are indeed a "healer"!

  I am a Reiki Master who usually starts my sessions with rigorous rubbing of my hands - to stimulate the hand chakras and warm my hands (God forbid, you get an icy set of hands on your body) This can sometime help with connecting to the energy.  

 I haven't read anything yet about R.B's accounts of drawing energy- this is my first post- just joined this forum this evening!  But I can tell you from what you describe from your post, when you draw energy in from the feet, you are drawing "Earth" energy.  Earth energy can be very healing. As a Reiki practioner, we draw in the "Rei" or "Ki", which comes from the cosmos.  This is done through the crown chakra which then flows to the hands.  This energy has a lighter and subtle feel, while "Earth" energy has a heavier texture to it.  With experience, you will be able to tell the difference!

 Many gifted people have come into this incarnation bringing energy with them to heal.  It sounds as though you are drawn to this path.  Always go with what "feels" right to you ... as only "you" know what is best for you.

Hey all.  I don't know what (if anything) this means but....

For many years now (25+), whenever I think about healing someone by touching them with my hands, I have the intuitive feeling that I should clap my hands (not "clapping", but rather one big clap, then rub my palms together briskly).  I have no clue where this idea comes from (a previous incarnation?  Intuition?).  I am not a healer, not have I ever knowingly healed anyone this way.  I'm just curious if anyone has ever seen or heard of this.  I've read R.B.'s accounts of drawing energy up through the feet to the heart center, then out through the hands to heal.  Would clapping and rubbing somehow stimulate the hand chakras?  Dunno...just seems really weird to me that whenever the thought crosses my mind to try to heal someone I get this "idea" that I'm supposed to do this prior to healing.  Crazy huh?
