Hi kairi,

Welcome to the Astral Pulse forums! [:)] When I asked about aurtas a while back, someone referred me to this book: How to Read the Aura and Practice Psychometry, Telepathy, and Clairvoyance
Walter Ernest Butler, W. E. Butler

The book is a good one, and I'd recommend it. However there are lots of others. Also, try using our Search engine to read over previous posts on the aura. You may find the information you're looking for that way too. [:)]

Woo HOO, I was going to post my own thread about seeing auras. I hope you don't think I'm high jacking your Kairi, I just didn't see the point in making a second thread on the same subject.

I've been reading up on Robert's aura article and was pleasantly surprised to find out that even I, of all people, can see an aura.
I tried the first experiment where you set up a blue or red book. I was lazy and used the lid of my oil paint storage box. It's about the same color blue as the Astral Pulse forum color blue =). I've seen auras before and didn't even know it! As described, I could see a yellow band of color hugging the outline of the blue colored lid. As I continued to gaze I saw this yellow expand, rather suddenly into a brilliant neon orange. The object looked like it was glowing with its own orange light source! I was amazed when I studied this color. It seem to pulsate slightly and had a yellow hue where the orange aura faded, several inches away from the edge of the box lid. I had a blanket about the same color as the supposed aura and was afraid that perhaps my eyes were playing tricks on my and somehow bleeding that color into the after image of the box. How that would work, I don't know, but I decided to look at the aura of the orange blanket. I wasn't surprised to find it's aura color was similar to that of the box lid. However, this means nothing. What fascinated me was how the thin band of color I've always took for granted blossomed when I relaxed enough to study it. It literally grew out several inches away from the object I was looking at in as little as two or three seconds. I'm still amazed. Wow, that's all I can say. I read something off the net for once and it worked immediatly. I better be careful, I could get used to that.

On a more serious note. I noticed some objects were very hard see the aura of because of the background they were against. Granted, a nice neutral backdrop is preferred for practice, but what about when you actually get the hang of it? Would you be able to see the aura of an object against a slightly busy or not exactly contrasting or neutral background?

Plants are next, but I would like to master inanimate objects first [:D].

Thanks!
