hello AP! Lately Ive taken an interest in thoughts and memories; those tricky, intangible things stored inside your brain. So, I want to hear: What does AstralPulse know about thought and memory manipulation? How does one read another person's mind? Can you control the emories of others, for example, with amnesia or memory planting (as in Inception XD)? There are a ton of metaphysical subjects that come up with mnemokenisis (memory manipulation), But I think I'll start off with the most famous one. How do you mind-read, or learn to read minds? Where does one start?

Dont think me a bad seed AP. Im just curious on the subject is all. :p

(disregard spelling errors, typed at night on iPod ;D)

'Stored inside your brain'... you sure?

That is maybe where the misconception lies.

I think to would be pointless trying to focus or visualise a persons mind as their brain to try to interpret what they are thinking. I'm not speaking from experience by the way... this is purely my opinion.

I'm basing it on how one communicates with other people in the nonphysical.

It's actually pretty simple to influence people's thoughts and memories and doesn't take psychic powers. Suggestion and cues can go a long way. We used to have a hypnotist around here a few years ago, who at first I was skeptical about, but he taught & verified a lot for me regarding suggestion. I don't recommend messing with people though, I'm just saying.

There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Ah, I knew I would get someone to say that.  :-D
With 'connected consciousness' and what-not, thoughts could be more like 'the cloud' everyone's talking about these days. Data floating like a gas above our heads, with each one of us connected to the same invisible mass of information. Crazy, huh?

I've always wondered about how suggestion really works, or if it really makes any profound impact. It seems like such a subtle thing. Can such a subtle thing like suggestion actually achieve any kind of worthwhile 'result'? It would really depend on the context in which it's used, I guess.

Also, anybody into mind reading / telekinesis? Can you actually do it? My mom can, once in a while, read people's minds if they're thinking of, say, a two-digit number, or a color [just accurately enough so that you know it's not random guessing]. Has anybody ever gotten more significant results? Just wondering if we have any X-Men around AP, I guess.

I think that picturing it this way (metaphorically or not) does not do it justice. Thoughts or any mental content is in my view not of this 3D-material dimension. Physicists often refer to the word "fields", some call it "non-local space" (an internal contradiction if you think it through). Something like that.
Mind in general does not 'belong' to this dimension, neither do thoughts. This would exclude any 'gas clouds over our heads'. On the other hand, also esoteric teaching tell us about the different bodies, including a 'mental' body and an 'emotional' body, the latter of which is the astral actually. All of them are said to frame our physical one, like Russian dolls. Still, I maintain that these bodies are 'not of this dimension' really. An exception might be the etheric/vital body which is said to be deeply enmeshed with our physical vessel. But again: it is not made of 'thoughts'.
Consciousness is the basis of all matter and also this universe. It is the 'underlying' structure, so to speak. This includes information, data and thought/thinking, in my view.

Totally agree...I love what Gerald O'Donnell says about this. The brain is nothing more than essentially an instrument to help decode vibratory light, so that we can interact with the physical world...

Yes... thanks.. .that saved me time and better than I could have put it.

People tend to think in a black and white sort of way... that if it isn't physical... and it's none physical... it must be some sort of 'thing' or 'field' or gas...
But this place derives from it... so this reality is the field or gas.

If a computer became conscious... as in became free thinking. Not AI... but real intelligence. How could it comprehend what it was made of? To us it would be a new 'virtual' consciousness and we would perfectly understand what it's made of because it derived from this reality. But imagine the flip side of the coin... if the computer tried to figure out what our reality was made of, let alone its own.

IMO the lower levels of the astral appear to be your own mental palaces AKA mental loci.

You mean stuffed to the brim with your subconscious babble?

Contenteo

Almost, I see subconscious babble as a deeper 'thing'(both are intangible). When I project, I still have a delineation between mental babble and environment, even though they are more-so connected then this plane.

For this aggregation level, this metaphor will do nicely. This thread, on the board, is the environment, and well, all our posts, that's the babble.  :-P

It's not just me then...

When I leave my body, I often find myself in closed spaces, very cramped, where I have to almost, 'fight' to get out.

Take this morning for example... left the body, went past 2 doors, and found myself in (prob.) the most smallest cramped bathroom I have ever seen! There was a toilet, a sink right next to it, and quite large white cupboards.

It was so small, tiny, and claustrophobic (if I've spelt that right;-) and there was a window, with 3 blinds (that you had to pull both up and down) before I could float out.

Once I did, I saw a pretty blue sky, but was on the roof tops of loads and loads of buildings

Now, I'm thinking, do these, 'buildings' (some smaller than others) are thoughts that have, 'come togther' to form one, I suppose you would say, conjested area?

Does this represent my subconscious mind, full of useless thoughts, that have filled my mind (could explain why I find it difficult to focus at times)

Worth pondering (but not too much, don't want to build more buildings, lol)

I wouldn't say useless.
I look at them more as layers in a photoshop document. Where you get connectivity from one layer to another buy organizing by function, not form, so you can have some connectivity through these layers. If every thing was nicely organized it would be difficult to recall without knowing exactly where you want your 'subcounscious libraian'(lets call it for kicks) to go searching.
This matches a lot with what Herodotus and Aristotle talk about back in the day and what world class memory experts think these days. I posted a TED video on it not to long ago.

No dewy decimal system for this one  :-P

Chaos Mage

I too have taken interest in this subject, especially memory.

A lot of people think, believe, and call me crazy.  They don't have a conception in their minds that such a thing as a 'satyr/human hybrid' could possibly exist.  The arcane and great things of manifestation that I performed in my youth have been shut away, and some of it even I believe was an implanted memory.  Perhaps one way of implanting memories is to convince the mind of a reality?  As through a trauma or traumatic experience, like a porno or a scarey movie?

If a person lets go of their whole bulk of memory, what do they have left?  Even thought would become difficult if not impossible!  Can you imagine that!  What if we woke up one day and forgot how to think?  What would we do?  How could we function?  Perhaps thought is only a target symbol for organizing our different memories.  When your brain is paralyzed, even thought becomes difficult.  Some days it's all you can do just to hold on to your skin!

I've never heard of memory manipulation as a 'kinesis' type of form.  People say there is no time.  Perhaps if we collect as much memory as we can, and gain a greater density of psychic energy, then, we would be able to understand the patterns of reality.  We would see what life is like day by day, and be able to predict the future based on our concentration or density of time associated energy.
Strength. Endurance. Speed. Resistance. Stamina. -these are dimensional, at density and frequency.
Will. Courage. Faith. Love. - these are spiritual, the power to effect Life Force.
Balance. Peace. Focus. Charge. Awareness. -mentally active self control
