What do you believe poltergeists our?Are there just the built up telekinetic energy within the human brain being uncontrollably projected outwards?Or are they the spirits of the dead causing trouble?

zorgblar

Isn't anybody going to give feedback? :-(

I think I'll go by that.

But I've also heard that troubled teenagers can have a certain negative energy that manifests in poltergeist symptoms like knives flying across the room, electronics malfunctioning, cupboards and doors opening and closing, strong unpredictable winds blowing papers around in the house, and other stuff of that nature....

Could be ghosts, or could be some electromagnetic machine, I think it's electromagnetic but I could be wrong, one of their neighbors have.

Basically, when this guy turns his machine on it causes objects to float and random events. It's so powerful that even nearby neighbors experience the effects of this machine.

Again, it could be ghosts. Who knows, but I'm going to try to find the link to a video of this machine--I've seen it maybe a year ago on YouTube or Google Video.

Ah, it's called the Hutchinson Effect. I searched for terms like poltergeist machine and anti gravity machine on Google. I'm not sure if this is the video I saw, but here's it is anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeUgDJc6AWE

I think it depends.  The original explanation 'noisy ghost' was given in a time where everybody believed everything was caused by some spirit or demon-not to say it couldn't be.  It's just that there is a statistical correspondence between the phenomenon and the presence of  the 'agent', most of the time a prepubescent girl, full of raging hormones and repressed emotion, and that can't be ignored either.
I remember being one of those (prepubescent girl with raging hormones) and having poltergest-like phenomena around the house (but that's another story) that went away when I grew up- so I would say it depends on the case.

Wow, thanks for the input CFTraveler. I never looked into poltergeist much at all. This is very interesting. We should call this "emokinesis"--moving objects with the power of emotion; rather than the mind, telekinesis.

lmao.. cuteness...where did you get those emoticons from???

I collect them as I go around- but if you look at when you quoted me, chances are that the website where I found them are part of the name  on the tag.  You can take that part and google it.  Sorry I couldn't be more specific.  (That's better than "I don't remember")  :-D
