Yes but you are not aware of the fact that you are in AP if you are sleeping, and there are many differences between spontaneous and deliberate AP...I think maybe that when people have nightmares they are taken back into their pyhsical body, but once the nightmare is over, they resume their previous state...as the astral body. But I'm not sure.

Great question! made me think.[:D]

It seems it could happen during the mind split, which is when you feel like you're in two bodies at the same time.

Once when I was in paralysis and someone was pulling on my ankles, I started kicking, or atleast tried.  When I finally broke out of it, my husband said my physical legs were kicking as well.

So, yes.. I would say it can happen. [^]

Does completely relaxed mean vegetative?  You roll around in your sleep, change positions, curl up, stretch all, all without knowing it.  Does this mean that you are not completely relaxed?

Is it possible that during Nightmares, the Astral body returns to the physical one as some sort of protection?
We all know that silver cord allows communication between body and astral. Then the nightmares in astral could affect the body behaviour on a vegetative level if the AP occured anyway.
Hmm...

If you take into account the idea of the mindsplit, that is, when you project, you split your mind into "two" and one half goes off aping and the other half stays behind, it's personally reasonable that the half that stays behind might have a nightmare and shake around.  Robert Bruce even talks about how the half that stays behind usually goes into dreaming mode (and this can interfer with the other halfs RTZ projection).

Heck, some people here can even project while conconscious (like Spectral Dragon who can type on a computer and project at the same time)  If you can type on a computer while projecting, I'm sure you can flail in bed.  The relaxation thing I think is to help novices (like me!) feel for their astral body and transfer into it.

Hi everyone!

I had this thought, maybe somebody can explain. When people sleep, their astral body floats above them. Some people, when having nightmares, start to move their body chaoticlly (shake their heads, etc). How is that possible, I thought that full relaxation is required for the AP?
