Hi SoulDragon,

Healing is gift that we all have the potential to employ (as an innate loving quality of our true nature). Not only to aspire to help and benifet others, but also for ourselves in turn on many levels. The very thought of thinking positively for another or reciting with intent a wishful healing prayer can and does work miracles.

You may find the Healing with the Heart article a valuable technique to learn as an example see: www.astralpulse.com/articles/robert/articles_45.htm

To aspire to heal is a truly wonderful calling, and I am sure a teacher will appear just at the right moment for you.

All the best with your learning journey and good luck with your healings!

Don't call me a saint yet. I don't want to spend my whole life doing it. I just want to do it as a side thing for people who I do beleive actually need it, and if I make a mistake on my psionic/magic practices. By the way I sent you an e-mail, and if you noticed, I changed my sig[:)]. Thanks for the complement anyway, though.

P.S: You're just out to be nice to people, aren't you?

I was going to tell you the same link, have fun learning, and message me on MSN if you need help on 'anything'

Hey thanx for the link you guys have both been very halpful and kind to me. I'd teach you an ability of my own or something if I only knew one. If you need telekinesis, babalon has a way that looks pretty reliable in the metaphysics section. thanks again!

I am of the opinion there are 2 types of healers.  The first are ones with talent(my case), the second are ones that have a need.  Either one can be quite adept, but not having talent means you generally study harder because you have to.  Anyone can heal, but not everyone can cure cancer.  Some people simply don't have the strength/training to pull it off.  That doesn't mean they aren't helping, because every little bit helps!

A good healers creed is "Where the mind goes, the Body follows".  I'm not sure If I made that up or read it.  Nothing on WWW searches, so I'm claiming it for now [:)]

There are many techniques available.  They all can work to varying degrees.  However, the biggest key to healing is being attuned to the patient, and having the patient actively participate in the healing.  Many 'healings' relapse because the patient didn't change their ways (didn't stop smoking/drinkings/abusing themselves).

True healings aren't like taking an aspirin and waiting an hour.  They require active and continued effort on the part of the patient.

Which path is right for you depends on your personality.  Choosing a technique that doesn't suit you means you won't achieve optimum results.  It doesn't mean you won't be able to heal, just not heal up to your potential.

Self Taught or Teacher?  Teacher can accelerate your training, assuming you can find one, and they are willing to take on an apprentice/journeyman, and you like them, and you trust them, and you like the techniques.  then again self-teaching and some good Internet Boards like here can do as well....

I think i want to learn too. I've been looking into books and websites, and there are many, many options of hands on and remote healing. I feel that i need to help people more, and myself as well. Ideally i like to have a physical teacher, and that's why i'm looking for a kundalini teacher locally (although i did get a Mantragirl DVD...hasn't arrived yet. Any good?)
If but we knew the power of our thoughts we would guard them more closely.

I would think that if one wanted to learn how to heal, they would simply practice the N.E.W. technique everyday. Develop your bioelectric body. Healing is the movement of your energy like Rastus has said. I've noticed some people who try it when they haven't developed their energy-centers (before I found N.E.W.) and foolishly rushed into giving out their energy when they don't know how to properly sustain/replenish their own.

Also when those types of people (premature-healers) try to defeat an illness or something of a heavier nature than they are aware, they take fall to sickness themselves due to ignorance. That's why I think healing others is serious business and should be left to those who are experts or have developed their circuits to a certain capacity. If a person with energy(1) interacts with a person with energy(2), they both recieve some of each others energy. If the latter chap doesn't know how to detect and expunge the energy that has entered him/her, it could have slippery-slope effects on the rest of his/her energy body.

I'm still trying to figure out my "style".  I usually use hands on, which is Reiki I suppose.  Okay, I'll be honest, I hadn't heard of "Reiki" specifically until a few weeks ago.  It seemed a money making pyramid scheme to me [:o)] ?  I am suspect of anything shrouded in mystery...

Years ago I healed my puppy of Parvo (95% mortality rate?), and that was 100% hands on.  Well, lap on, I held him for 3 days pouring energy into him to help him fight it off.  I also used intravenous IV solution because dehydration can kill no matter how much energy you use.  I had no fear in that healing, humans can't catch it.  I did overdo the energy expenditure though, but I was off work and could afford to.

I have just now gotten over Bronchitis, yep you guessed it, from a failed healing, twice.  I broke protocal with my wife.  Did I say protocal in reference to physchic healing?  Someone smack me.  She went on on a 2 week vacation to see her mother.  I was in the process of self healing at the time (long story, see one of the other forums, but I was physchically a mess, very off balance).  When she got back she had bronchitis.  So instead of giving her energy, we shared energy.  She got a little better and I got bronchitis.  Re-center, heal (mostly)myself.  Try again on my wife.  I didn't over do it this time, but I didn't break off before the backflow started.  She got much better and I relapsed.  Never and try major healings in bed with your spouse [:I]

We are both fine now, but it shows you what can happen if you aren't careful, or push too hard, or aren't 100% yourself.

What technique you use doesn't matter so much as how it fits in with your style.  Reiki is intense burst of energy directly on the problem, whereas a Aural technique is small amounts of energy to carrect the Aura which in turn will correct the body.  Both work.  Both require energy in different ways.
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

Rastus

There is always the possibility of catching what your working on.  I believe the Reiki techique uses large amounts of energy in a hands on technique.  The Aural method is a light amount of energy to correct the Aura, which in turn corrects the body.  There are other techniques as well.  But, all techniques revolve around manipulating bio-energy.

You can get backlash from either method.  The true key to healing is power up, heal, get out, re-center, cleanse, re-shield.  Keeping a light physchic touch can cause backlash, but it can also let you keep up a steady trickle of energy or monitor someones progress.  It depends on your relation to the patient, and the illness, but it is quite useful on small children.

I think the biggest problem for a healer is fear.  Fear you will fail and fail the patient, which may mean they will die.  Fear that you will fail and catch what they have (cancer is good for this).  Fear that your not up to the task.

Doubt is almost as bad.  New healers have doubt that they can really do this.  That's normal for any Metaphysic task, not just healing.  Doubt that you have the skill needed.  Doubt you have the energy required.  Doubt that it really works and your just not mentally masturbating.

And of course, we sometimes forget important things.  Like the patient doesn't really want to get well.  Older patients are like that.  Some may simply have given up on living.  Also, healing the patient doesn't always mean they will stay well.  There are many relapses because people won't change.  Healing a tumor is a wonderful thing, but you have to examine why they got a tumor in the first place?  Why are they Metaphysically out of balance?

I guess pure physical injuries are the 'easiest' to work on.  A nasty cut just requires pure jolt of power to keep out infection, help the blood vessles re-align, the skin grow back, and the damage to the physche smoothed out, and of course to supress unnecesary pain.

The hardest are Metaphysical.  Like my Depression.  If I didn't want to get well, then I wasn't getting well.  Short of physical intervention from a master, I wasn't going to get well against my wishes.  I believe it took some intervention to let me "see the light" again, and stop wallowing in sloth and self pity.

Haven't you ever watered flowers and got your feet wet?  Or dribbled something while drinking?

Hi Souldragon,

I am a traditional Native American healer(actually Alaska Native), I learn my medicine/healing from Haa Shagoon (my ancestors). I don't read books or study under self-professed 'masters' to learn my medicine. As all my ancestors before me, who were shamans and medicine women for thousands of years, I 'simply ask and I receive' the knowledge I need to do the work. I trust and believe that the Creator is always guiding and helping me...

Many healers do not work on themselves first, and have not developed spiritually before they try healing. I did not even think of healing others till I had done much healing on myself and my family first for many years.

We are all connected to our family, and by helping your family to heal you also get much stronger spiritually. Many healers don't know how to protect themselve either, which is why they get sick from trying to heal other people. They don't know simple basics of grounding, protection, or even asking the Creator and angels for help. I believe they put to much of their own will into it, instead of surrendering their will to allow the Creator to do the work. I have never suffered a 'backlash' of any kind from doing healing work, nor have I ever 'caught' anything from people I help. Actually, I get energized and feel better from doing the work, and strengthened.

Anyway, I was my first patient, healing my 4 slipped discs in my lower back that left me bed-ridden for 6 months. I have always had spiritual gifts since a child, but I was literally 'called' as they say to do this work by my ancestors who were telling me to do it. I knew it was not an easy road, it could be dangerous, and I did not know if I could committ to such a life, I also knew there would be no turning back once I decided to do the work.

Finally, after doubling over in pain and almost blacking-out from it, I sat up and told them (it was my grandmother's), "Ok, I'll do it." Immediately my pain disappeared and I began to heal, I began to have dreams of them talking to me in our Native language.

After that, all I had to do was ask to learn something, and suddenly I could do it. Healing with my hands (as my grandmother who could heal broken bones with her hands), healing in my dreams or visions, doing things with the weather, and other things.

The healing with hands I do is similar to Reiki, but way more powerful. I have worked with 'Reiki masters' who were amazed, and wanted to learn 'my techniques'. As other true shamans, I don't reveal all my gifts or secrets, but I would share some basics as I am now.

My father was my second patient. He had colon cancer, with a tumor 5 cm that was spreading to the back bone, he was totally enemic, losing weight, and eating all the wrong foods/beverages.

I changed his diet and prayed with him every day. I found herbs from the health store simply by closing my eyes and running my hand over them. Where my hand felt a 'pull' I would take that herb or supplement home and make him take it.

I cancelled his appointments for Chemo/Radiation and for three months worked with him. His doctor called me up and said, "You know, your Father is going to die if he doesn't get this treatment?"...I replied, "You know, we ALL are going to die...at least I am going to give him a fighting chance, and not kill him off with Chemo like you plan to do. At least let him die with some dignity." then I hung-up on him...

Finally, my father wanted to go back to Alaska. So, I told him he had to go through 'conventional' treatment. I took him to a different hospital (at the University of Washington), where those Dr's scolded me and said they will have to do another CAT scan/MRI on him, because his cancer 'probably spread all over by now'.

Well, they found his tumor stopped growing and shrank down to 4.2 cm and the cancer that was previously spreading to his back bone completely gone! Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells and is always growing left untreated, so to see it shrink so much in a short time left the Dr's scratching their heads.

I kept him on the diet, herbs, special drinks, and prayer. He went through Chemo/Radiation and was the only one that didn't loose his hair, he didn't get nauseous or mouth sores, his blood was normal and remained so through out treatment. You couldn't even tell he was sick.

I also had to work on him emotionally. I believed this was the biggest part of his disease. He started drinking when we (my siblings and I)were children, and left to work on the pipeline. So, we were raised by my grandparents who lived the 'old way'.

I felt I had to talk to him about my feelings. I used the 'Clearing Structure', which is a way of talking respectfully to another person and sticking to the main point, asking for what you need in order to heal, then listening to their response.

So, I had him apoligize to me and to our whole family, friends, and to his ex-wives, all the people he hurt over the years in one way or another when he used to drink. He was literally glowing as he called more people. Everyone cried and accepted his apology.

Well, he had a dream that night before 'his making amends'. He dreamt he was going home on a boat my grandfather had built years ago, and I was with him. In our Tlingit tradition we believe going by water somewhere signifies death. Especially to him, since in his dream I was 'bringing him home' by boat as our ancestors, and many times we still do when someone dies.

After apologizing to my sister, who lives on Maui, he said she wanted to talk to me. She also had a dream the same night my Father did. She dreamt I was on a big boat and there was a little boy with me. She didn't know who the boy was, but he was being a little terror, misbehaving, causing trouble, etc. Finally, the boy jumped over board, and two men jumped in and pulled him out. After they brought him out, he was fine and being a good boy...

To me it signified a 'death' to his old life, and reborn new and cleansed. Well, after that people in my family start apologizing to each other. Brothers who were angry and hadn't spoken to each other in 5 years. Cousins calling other relatives and apologizing. Then even at my Father's church (he quit drinking in '94 and became a Christian) the minister heard about what my Father had done, and wanted to organize a 'Forgiveness Day' for other members, it had snow-balled!

Those were my first healing work. Now, I continue to learn new things from my ancestors and have become much more effective. I found prayer to be most powerful, praising the Creator and thanking Him, and asking the angels for help.

I have brought people out of comas simply by going to their house and 'cleansing it and blessing it', removed brain tumors by praying with a friend on the phone. I've helped heal my sister of Lyme Disease, stopped heart attacks and strokes, cured my friend of narcolepsy by cleansing and blessing his house, repaired severed nerves (accidently cut by a Dr. during surgery). And many other miraculous healings. I never claim this power as my own, but make myself a vessel for the Divine will of the Creator. My Father is still cancer-free (going on 7 years now)...

I only help people who ask for my help and/or I usually have a dream about them first. I have what I call a 'knowing' within in me, and usually know who needs my help, and I know what they need in order to heal. Be it spiritual, emotional, past-life work, herbs, etc.

I also don't charge a fee to people I help, because I believe like it says in the bible 'freely have you received, freely shall you give' (something like that). I prefer to be repaid 'in the spirit' always whenever I really need to something to help myself or others, it comes to me...

I don't go around trying to 'heal the world' or even tell everyone I am a healer. Other true shamans see what is in me, and I have met many this way. I have also met many shamans who 'are jealous' of me and try to put a curse on me. They have come from many different tribes, even Hawaiians. They don't like the fact I only use my power for good or they want to 'test' their power. I am always too strong and they end up getting hurt instead. I simply bless them and forgive them. Forgiveness is one of the most powerful healing work anyone can do...

My recommendation to you is to work on yourself first if you think you are a healer. It is not an easy road, but it is worth the effort. The answers you seek are not 'out there' somewhere, they are within you. If you really want to learn, trust the Creator, all you have to do is ask...good luck and blessings.

Peace,

Rastus

Sweetwater:

Your story brought tears to my eyes and inspired me.  I also had a huge energy surge while reading it, which is a sign I'm getting better(I have been among the shadows for a long time).  I don't have ancestors the way you do.  At least I don't think so?  My grandmother was quite spiritual, but my father was adpted, hmmmmm, something to meditate on.  I have always been reluctant to call on my guide and other spirits.  I'm leaving for a week of vacation in the upper lands of Michigan tomarrow, I think I'm going to go off by myself near my father-in-laws home and call my guide, we haven't spoken in awhile [:(]

Gunalcheesh (thank you) Runlola and Rastus, and thank you for sharing also.

Runlola,

I know how hard it is to see someone close to you sick and/or in pain. I had to talk to my Father because he was scared and you could see it in his face.  I asked him if he wanted to die? Because at first he just wanted to do whatever the Dr's told him. I told him they would probably kill him with the Chemo. (I am a very direct person)Then I told him if he wants to die, go back home and die, don't come down her to die by me. But then I said, "if you want to live, I'll be with you every step of the way, we will fight and beat this cancer together." He decided he wanted to live, and I could literally see a change in his face, no more fear, only trust and determination.

After his treatment a friend from Oregon called me up and said she was going to a funeral that weekend for a friend's Mother who had just died from Chemo (well actually a virus that her body was not able to fight off after treatment), they also found she did not even have cancer-she had been misdiagnosed! I told my Father about it, that Chemo can kill you, he was so thankful for all the help I did for him. He still thanks God every day for another chance at life.

I too learned about the importance of diet. And, I have put myself on a cancer prevention diet, like what I made him do. I don't eat red meat or eat processed foods, practically eliminated salt & sugar, quit drinking coffee, etc. I eat plenty of vegetables/fruit, with chicken or fish, and drink lots of green tea and water. I do cleanses and fast to eliminate toxins.

When my Father went back home, at first he tried going back to his old eating habits. He immediately got extremely sick, so now he knows what not to eat anymore.

I also think grounding is very important, I always pray for the Lord to keep me 'rooted and grounded in His everlasting love, the love he had for us before the foundations of this world'. I always put on the armor of God, and do body, mind, or spirit strengthening excersises every day.

Although I don't consider myself a 'Christian' in the sense of going to any organized religion or church. I do find some aspects, probably that what the so-called Christians today have no concept of very helpful. I think it is because our people and the ancient Jews have very similar cultural beliefs, language, and concepts. Some people believe we are the 'lost tribe of Israel'.

Rastus,

Gunalcheesh for your kind words. I can also feel peoples emotions when I work on them or pray for them. I could feel your tears...

I believe everyone has a culture and ancestors, but many people today have 'left them behind' when moving forward with the 'Manifest Destiny' of this country.

I have helped people of European background find them. I was helping a young man. I prepared some of our traditional food, asked a blessing for it, then had him throw it in a fire. This is our tradition of how we 'feed the spirit of our Haa Shagoon (those who have gone before us-ancestors). It strengthens them, I have also done that to feed the Grizzley Bear, Killerwhale, and Thunderbird spirits that have helped me.

Anyway, I called his ancestors to come eat. At first they came then stopped, so I told them, "It's from Nate". Then they came and 'took it'. Later, Nate wanted to go outside to talk about it (we were at a ceremomy). He asked me, "what happened in there? I could feel my grandmother and grandfather's spirit go through me."

I said I know, "they came and at first didn't take it (maybe they wondered about the traditional food) once I told them it was from you, they accepted it." Well, after that Nate began healing emotional and spiritually.

Even his Mother who had been trying to do research about their family tree, and had come up against an impass and was 'stuck'was amazed. Because two days later, all the sudden a relative from 'the old country' contacted her and gave her much information about their family tree...

So, please don't feel you don't have ancestors to help you. They probably are but you don't realize it. We all came from somewhere. I am just very fortunate to have grown up like I did.

My grandparents had an arranged marriage, practically the only food they ate was our traditional food, my grandfather told us clan history and stories every single day after dinner. My grandmother took me everywhere with her (and not any of my other siblings or cousins), to our ceremonies, to her Native meetings and conventions, etc. I now know why they did this. They knew I would be the one to pass on our culture.

Many Native Americans today are 'lost without their culture' because of westernization and colonization. Well, what comes around goes around. I believe the colonizer has also become colonized, and they too are just as 'lost'. But, like I said before, all you have to do is ask...

Have a safe and healing trip, may your ancestors be with you.

Peace-

SoulDragon
