Question about headphones

As long as it keeps left and right channels fairly separate, than its all good, and try not to worry about sound response, humans only have a range from 20hz-20khz average, lower sound binaural are actually not created within the head phones but within the head.

Haven't used them in a while, however when I did, I preferred a small light pair that came with a compact panasonic cd player. I had tried a bigger pair once, but they were too bulky, and a distraction.

There may also be some information that may help you on binaural beat presets and cds in some of our older threads. The astral pulse search engine may be useful to you. This topic comes up fairly regularly and we've had a lot of topics and posts before that you'll be able to read through (if you want).

I believe there is also a certain period of time required for binaural use, in order for it to be effective. Not sure if that may be an issue for you, but thought I would mention it.

yeah I think you need to use them at least 15 minutes for an affect.

Thanks, y'all.  I think I must be wearing "crap," Major Tom.  I've been using the $20 variety.

So, I'm investing in some good headphones to see if it makes a difference...got the Sennheiser 555.  And, even if it really doesn't make a difference, it might if I think it will.  Right?

I agree, I bought a pair of Sennheiser about 10 years ago. They came with a very thin replaceable cable because it is usually the cable that frays first somewhere leaving you with one can working and the other dead. I've tripped over the things, pulled the cable out more times than i can remember, got it caught up here and there and I'm still on the original cable! Oh and they sound as good as ever.

I have not had much luck with brainwave recordings and suspect the problem is that I'm using inferior headphones.  Do any of you have a recommendation about what kind of headphone I should buy?
