I don't know the book your talking about, but I don't think it would be worth concerning yourself with. There are many books out there with wrong information, false promises, and misguided paths to follow. If the person is going to be so swayed by these things then they probably would be better off not getting involved in the first place. I don't mean to sound crude, but it's not for everyone. It takes a lot of dedication and searching to really find your way with this kind of stuff. So all in all I don't think one person and her book will cause too much trauma.

Look at it this way, she got part of it right.  Every major religion got part of it right, and part wrong.  After some intropsection, a dedicated seeker of knowledge can strip the wheat from the chaff to find the grains of truth.

I understand that, believe me. However there is a lot of that, especially in this type of subject. These types of people are only out to make a buck off people who don't know any better...nothing we can do except hope that those who really want to know will look further.

Ganamoha:  you are showing your youth.  Notice I said youth, not ignorance, there's a difference.  You still have a strong sense of idealism, try not to lose it!!!

Everyone has to eat.  Ever wonder why most witches have a mundane job?  Because it pays so much better than witchcraft!!!  It's hard to find a job in the metaphysical field, unless you write a book or start a school.  I believe schools are more an Asian thing?

She could be a total charlottan or quite genuine.  Never  assume that her education is broad.  How many people on this sight are here for OOBE exclusively?  How many people would ever consider metaphysically laying hands on a cancer patient?  How many understand the fundamental difference in Shamanism over other disciplines (or even understand the concept of disciplines for that matter?).

You want a concrete example of what I'm alluding to?  Diet Books  Look how many diet books are in a big bookstore?  And how many of them work?(none, you have to have a lifestyle shift to get a diet to work).  Americans alone spend billions on diets a year, quite a lucrative market, eh?

As a note, I've lost about 10 pounds over the last 2 months(about the safest rate to lose weight), due exclusively to Metaphysics.  I conciously choose to eat better, and cut out the 'bad' thngs from my diet.  Also, meditation is good for supressing that hungry feeling.

Well, I always try to see through the spiritual, religious or similar kind of "belief things" in books/texts and use the practical informations I can find in them. Everything else is unimportant anyway, imo.

Most of these people have had personal experiences with the stuff they write about, but that's the "problem": They're personal experiences, which cannot claim to be the truth.

Well, nobody is forced to believe anything he/she reads in a book. But if you think there are no limits, prove her wrong. It's as simple as that.

(Not to offend authors) i suggest you do not read books on the metaphysical because most writers tend to write about things they know little about and twist it and cause the reader to read it and believe what the author does.  for example ... one book said that people dont gain real powers until age 30 and the truth is if you dont find your inner gifts by then they are usually lost until the next life. So my advice is try what you believe will work and it may or may not work but its better that knowing the wrong thing
