Spinning in a dream???

Joe, I've heard about this theory, but haven't actually tried it. My awareness would have to be really high for me to remember that in the first place. Mostly because I haven't trained myself to spin. You know what I'm sayin right? I've found that during my dreams, I either lose lucidity by getting distracted, or I lose energy.  I think if I tried the spin technique it would wake me up. Sometimes in my dreams after doing any kind of fast movement, I lose control of my body and bob around like a dead balloon. Then I wake up!    ...I'd say the best way to keep lucidity is just to have a strong intent yo do so. It may get easier with practice.

The spinning has helped me to continue a lucid dream, but sometimes after spinning I found myself in a different dream. It has been easier to maintain a lucid dream by looking at my hands. The worst thing I can do has been to close my eyes. That has been certain to wake me up every time. Anything that takes attention away from the dream environment seems to cause waking up. Anything that adds awareness to a specific part of the environment or to my presence (such as watching the hands) seems to strengthen the dream. Fortunately, though, some of the waking up has been into a new dream. Sometimes this has led to lucidity again.

i've had about 5-6 lucid dreams. mainly due to the book i read by stephen la berge. i believe that's how his name is spelled. i dont' recall teh exact name of the book though. it's something like lucid dreamer or the world of the lucid dreamer. all of the dreams that i became lucid in were from the spinning technique. every time that i spun something wierd has happened in the spinning stage. i just posted the most bizarre exp. i've ever had a few posts up, you should ck that one out. everytime i spun it seemed like i was in another world until i was done spinning. i saw waht looked like stars and heard music a few times. i don't know if this has anything ot do w/ your exp but it's just some wierd stuff i exp from spinning.

Last night i had an LD  that didn't seem to make but sense but b4 i went to sleep i went with the intent of having an LD and trying out the spinning technique to extend my dream.

So anyways my LD starts and i do whatever for like 15-20 mins and then started to lose it and feel my body again so I did a spin.  Anyways like 4 spins later I still have my dream going but in retrospect it seems that everytime i did a spin i lost some awareness or consciousness???  So it was like it was still me and i still knew i was dreaming but it was less and less of me everytime or something like that....  It also seemed like i lost my flying ability and general will also.

Anyways by the last time i was just a fragment of me literally stuck in the dream world and not knowing what to do and not being able to think clearly.  It ended up being quite frightening.

Has anyone else had similar experiences from spinning and/or have any theories about it?  Was it due to a continuous energy loss or just gradually shaving off my consciousness.... and does twirling around always do this?

Either way I would suggest that people be careful w/ their spins!  :)
