If I may be so bold, your error is assuming everyone here is for a higher purpose.  Nothing could be farther from the truth.  Most people are here for OOBE.  Period.  Having worked with some of them, they are so narrowly focused, they won't even remotely consider any of the other ideas.  Some are religious zealots of the 1st order, and refuse anything but their own Dogma.

However, there are a few people that can see the "Big Picture".  That really "get it".  To see beyond human lables to the underlying foundation is what lifes all about.  Often times the seeking for the answer is more important than the answer itself, the experience and process is the key.

But since I'm not perfect, sometimes I just gotta reach out and biatch-slap someone to shuttup []

Some like it more than others. Its a matter of preference I guess. But like the old saying goes.

Don't fight over different beliefs and opinions and to just get along regardless.

In the end I find, that there can be room for either peace or conflict, but ultimately peace is the smarter choice.

dont even worry about it, there will never be peace in anything... just another thing u gotta tolerate. theres always gonna be those ppl who strive for it and say "thats not right!" but, its not going to change. dont want what you cant have, thats just self torture

However, the recent controversy on paid subscriptions has sloppily exposed feelings of dissent.

As harlequin has pointed to, dissent is unwaranted in a system where speech is free.

Yeah, hate definitely is *not* what makes me feel alive.  Perhaps Sentential meant that having a purpose makes us feel alive, and often that purpose is realized as fighting for what you believe in, or struggling to overcome obstacles?  

There are a lot of rude, nasty people on this forum and it's pretty much the same everywhere.  IME, they tend to disappear if they don't get an angry reaction.

Well said. I don´t feel very 'alive' those moments of 'darkness', either. But when I´m filled with inner peace, I feel like nothing can get to me and most everything are beautiful - very much alive!! ...if one think conflict is needed to be able to feel alive/excited, one can´t be very much in harmony and one most certainly hasn´t experienced those moments of profound inner peace where the word 'alive' takes another meaning.

Well I can understand where Sentential is coming from. There may have been a time when I would have thought that the "rush" such things give you makes you feel alive. Once you get a glimpse of inner peace you finally see what being alive really is.

Right what I was explaing is the duality of nature. Without the black we cannot have light. So in that reguard, we will never really be free of it.

Most people dont like to think that way. But you really have to think of life as a game to undersand. If life were easy, would you feel any pride from saying "Oh that? Yea I got thru it even despite xxxxx"

LIke I said, its like game. Nothing feels more exihilerating than overcoming unbeatable odds. Whether we wish to admit it or not. It is a very impowering feeling.

I dont condone such acts. But what we should do is try to understand better. Too often do we join togeher to hate something else. That my friends is not peace.

   how come, even here in these forums, so many people are SO angry. the christians preach to the wiccans and the wiccans to the christians. . .the liberals against the republican. . .arent we all suppose to come together in a PEACEFUL atmosphere?? isnt the WHOLE point of these forums to do just that? so that we ALL can learn from each other. its alright not to agree, but dont yell and tell each other that they're wrong.don't insult people, theres no call for that and it will get us nowhere. . . .because insulting is EXACTLY what the rest of the world does and we'll not make any progress if we do this.
I hear you people in these forums saying that "we" are the ones who will pave the way, that 'we' are the ones that know the truth.etc. but in reality we are NO DIFFERENT than everyone else. . . .we just understand things differently.
So please dont insult people, dont try to make them into something they're not, and really. . .talking about how bush is hitler, or how democrats are hippies, etc. . .in the grand scheme of things it really doesnt matter. .all this petty arguing over politics is futile. .i wish all that angry energy was put into something more beneficial.
i realize not everyone will agree with me, and mabe it seems that im 'venting', but if just one person gets something out of this, then the world will be better.
