In Buddhism, particularly the Vajrayana, initiations / empowerments are very important. It often requires travel to get them, as they are not available in many places. One of the reasons why I want to do real-time projection is to avoid travel expenses and maybe there are initiations which are given publicly and which do not require a physical presence.

Shayde

That is a new concept I have never thought of. Could you actually watch movies in the RTZ? Would the movies even appear on the screen? Also traveling, the only problem with that is that you do it alone. =P I guess I could always visit loved ones, and wonder if they would ever know that I am there or if they dream of me.

Shayde, You will just have to make some astral friends or we could all practice and get good at projecting into the RTZ and then take vacations together.

Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

In my experience with the OBE state, I find that once I get there, worldly concerns (such as saving $$$ by going to a movie) are the LAST thing on my mind!  It's almost as if my Superself takes over, and she's more interested in tapping into the Secrets of the Universe than in saving $7.

Believe me, there is no use fighting the Superself, she'll always have her way!  Of course, if my Superself were really, really CHEAP, my experiences might be different http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_big.gif" border=0>

Super Self? What is that? (Sorry been a while since I have read Astral Dynamics. Was going to dust it off and reread it tonight.)

Astral friends..How often do you encounter another person on the Astral Plane? Also I read about the beings that exist on different levels of the Astral Plane, and was wondering, is it possible to make friends with them? Or are we to different in nature to even begin to understand a being on a different level other than the Material World. I think it would be interesting.

Superself?  I thought I made that term up http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_blush.gif" border=0>  It would be really funny if someone else was using it!    My superself is the "aware" self, the OBE self.  Of course it's just me, with my true intentions magnified.

Um, if I'm out-of-body, and I have access to the Universe, isn't sneaking into a movie theater pretty lame, Beavis?

WalkerInTheWoods

When I posted I was not thinking about sneaking into movies but instead going some place that you could not afford to go to, or for political reasons are not able to go to. Like taking a trip to some tropical island or going to China, Iraq or some place like that. Seeing a movie would not be high on my list of things to do while out of body. In fact I actually doubt that you could as when we watch a movie we tend to loose awareness of our enviroment and get into the movie. If you were out of body and could see a movie I would think that you would most likely drift out of the RT zone and find yourself actually inside the movie on the astral.

As for astral friends, I have never really meet anyone while out of body. But some have and I am sure you could make friends with them or they might be your guide and help you with your astral travels. I still think it would be cool if we could all meet up out of body, but I do not think most of us are that skilled yet. I know I am not. Hopefully I will get some more time to practice soon and can start working on that. Then I can come pick you all up and we can go to Saturn or some place. I have a friend who I meet on the Astral . . . and he has other friends he meets too.  I've only been able to pull it off a few times over a period of over a decade.

As much as we enjoy each other's "electronic company" on this forum, unfortunatly it is unlikely we'd be able to find each other on the astral; we're just not connected enough.  First we'd have to meet face to face and get to know each other, hug perhaps, share bodily fluids maybe (ha ha), or just connect in general.

Then, with the sporadic nature of our OBE successes . . . what are the odds of our getting "out" at the same time? !!!

It's a cool thought though.

yeah, that would be a cool thing if we could all meet in the astral !! maybe some day.

Tisha, I'm going to start using your term "superself" - its great !!!!

A movie theater sounds like a nice place to try virtual reality projection, even if it is not an image reflected in a mirror. Going into the movie screen sounds like fun. Not the screen itself, really, but into the scene displayed on it. Would it be possible to watch the movie from the inside, and see the rest of the movie from a new perspective?

Shayde

You know where I would go...the Vatican. Think of all the neat stuffs you could get into there. *evil grin* That is if things like that exists in the real time zone.

Trish:
Superself is a great term, and may be a new concept. I will have to test it out myself. *grins*

I think the RTZ is a little boring, if you ask me.  I can turn on the TV and see the world for so much less work!   After I successfully visit my friends and knock their keys off their nightstands just to freak them out (I hope I can do this), I'll move on to the realms of the Astral, to see what I can see.  All, ideally, with the help of an experienced Guide.

The Astral is so much more interesting.  I think I might want to visit the Heaven belief-systems.   It would be interesting to see how many there are.  For instance, Islamic men supposedly go to heaven and are serviced for eternity by 70+ "houris" (women).  So what happens to muslim women?  Do they become the houris?  Just think . . . there is no escape for the Muslim woman.  In servitude in life AND in death.  I might start a women's liberation movement there (HA HA just kidding).

I wonder how many versions of Heaven there are.  For instance, how do Christians reconcile where they go . . .?  There are Christians who believe all Christians go to heaven.  Then there are Baptists, for instance, who only believe Baptists go to heaven.  So do they get their own Heavens?  Do the inclusive-Christians ever wonder where the exclusive-ones went?

I think I might want to visit the spirit of Jesus and ask him what he REALLY thinks.

Yeah the heaven thing would be a interesting, and complicated. I see you getting a long term headache in the future from it. =P j/k

I think the RTZ may be a little underestimated, but I'm sure it may loose it's novety value. My big thing is Astral Wild Life. I want to meet some, and perhaps maybe make friends with those who live higher up, and are a tad bit more intelligent. I wonder if it is even possible to make friends with different beings on the astral plane.

Well, once I was out of body in real-time, and I concentrated on a man I was in love with. I showed up in his house. I floated around his vaulted ceilings looking at his furniture and his cat. Then I got nauseous and dizzy and went back to my body.

Not exactly thrilling, but I was really hung up on him.

Shayde

LOL well atleast you have been to the RTZ. I have yet to atleast achiever Astral Sight yet.

I would say on 90% of my projections, I am in the RTZ.  There is ALWAYS at least a little struggle with me to "behave" when I am in this carefree environment.  For example, I am always thinking to myself, "Hmmm...I wonder what my cute neighbor is doing right now.  Showering perhaps?"

I then have to fight these thoughts off for two reasons.  One, because I know that this is not the best way to utilize my time when I am out.  Second, because I know that I would therefore be projecting for all the wrong reasons, and probably slow down my progress in astral travelling.

Not to mention, getting sexual with people in the astral has always killed my experience by getting me too excited (fast heart beat, etc) and I return to the physical body shortly thereafter.

I would think that there are infinite "heavens" as there are pretty much infinite believes throughout time about the afterlife. I am just wondering if you could start any kind of movement in a false heaven. I would think that the people there are there because they are so consumed with their belief that they would not even consider your ideas. Those that do question the "heaven" have probably already been "thrown out" and looked for the truth. Could be interesting though.

Interesting Indeed, however just as long as 1 person believes I doubt that it could be considered a false heaven. Which brings another thought, what would define a true heaven? I don't think that could be defined by the heaven its self, but by the individual that believes in that heaven.

on the heaven note

i've always been pretty big on the, if you believe it then it exists, saying. i dont' know that it would be possible to have a false or true existence of any kind. i believe in AD it read that the planes themselves are manifested from a universial consciousness, or something like that. anytime that i think about existence i tend to think about the hell realms and that the scariest or most hellish thing to exist there is exactly what you or your subconscious can come up w/ that you are most afraid of. also i think that those realms are just filled w/ other peoples fears. i guess the same would be said about the heaven realms.

WalkerInTheWoods

By false heaven I mean a place on the astral that people think is the end all, be all, highest you can go, this is it heaven. Looking at it like that it is a false heaven if it is just on the astral and not on the highest plane, assuming there is such a thing. It is also harmful if it is a false heaven because these people think that is all there is and are not seeking out more.

An example: Lets say a group of people believe that when you die you go to a nice shiny bright city, "Heaven". So these people die and find themselves in a shiny bright city. They think this is it, this is heaven. They set up residence in this place and prepare for eternity there. While the truth is that there is much more to that plane, and many more planes, many more existences beyond what they think is the one and only place to be. So their spiritual growth, or evolution, has stopped.
This is not to put anyone's beliefs down. But if you are close minded about what exists beyond the physical then you can find yourself trapped in a place that is not really what is appears to be.

Another example: A christain dies and goes to a place that is on the astral that is much like he/she thinks heaven is like. They accept it as being the heaven their religion talks about, set up residence and stop their growth. They may have been a true seeker on the physical and grown a lot but because of this they have stopped. If they continue their searching they may find the truth that they seek, the highest possible spiritual growth or evolution.

If you are refering to heaven in the sense that it is somewhere nice and a place you would like to be for eternity then I guess false heaven would be the wrong term to use, but that is not what I was refering to.

So, uh... How many of you people who project have projected into the RTZ and snuck into a movie theater? Or snuck into other places that you're not supposed to be? If so, where and why?
