Not really, but then I'm a Saggitarius - we tend to be messy creatures anyway. It can be said that the quickest way to turn a room into a mess is just let a Saggitarian walk into it. [:)]

James.

volcomstone

it's hard to see the perfection in a messy room

but just remember, if you leave it long enough, it'll turn into soil and a tree can grow from it.
opinions are like kittens, just give 'em away

You bet! I can deal with a little bit of mess/imperfections. But in general like to keep things organized and clean, especially when meditating.

I even threw my TV, out of my own room....[|)] Stupid ugly blackbox!

What is a Saggitarius?
I don't do much, and I do it well.

Well, Rastus, THIS Saggitarius is a neatnik and agrees with you.  Sorry James :)

Yes, I have a hard time functioning metaphysically (or with any activity that requires my concentration) if my house is messy or chaotic.  I try not to let myself get to uptight about it--sometimes it's ok if things aren't straightened up.  I usually make sure my meditation space is tidy at the very least, or tell myself "I'll take care of the dishes before I go to work tomorrow" so that my brain can relax knowing they won't be there forever.

I agree, when I was a teenager I could care less if the place was messy.  I don't know why that's changed now that I'm a bit older.

Velloco,
Saggitarius - astrological starsign for anyone born 23rd November to 22nd December.

Naiad780,
You non-conformist centaur you! Let go, kick up your hooves a bit and shoot a few arrows into things. You'll feel better for it! [:P][;)]

Admittedly, I tend to like to keep things somewhat tidy in my meditation area.

Maybey it's not really messiness though, maybey just a lot of "works in progress". [;)]

hey i know usally your given the advice but you have to just completely let go and almost in a way just lose yourself i mean when my bro and sis start to fight and then they stat screaming pounding the walls and everything and it bothers me so much but i just tell myself that once i let go itll will just go away so i kinda zone out and if this doesnt work for you srry but it works for me and you know how youve said you feel like everything has to be perfect i know what you mean cause ive been there but i got over it.

Question for the forum in general:

I've been practicing recently a lot heavier than I have since my teens.  I've noticed that I'm more sensitive to discord than I ever was.

Question:  Do others have problems with discord around their homes?  I mean a sink full of dishes never bothered me, but now I can't stand the kitchen to be messed up.  I've given up doing high-energy work in the bedroom, too messy (intellectually I knew this, known it all along, but I had a practical face slap last night so have finally succumb).  Tommarrow is trash day, and the trash waiting to go out this morning was metaphysically repuslsive to me (and not just because it's July in the USA, Phewwwww).
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

My living space is a total mess, but I always know where everything is, if I'm the one who set it down last.
We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.  We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

one who reorganized space to embody it's natural order is a seeker indeed. Follow your instinct, be as creative as you want to be.

Ultimately you may want to look at your living space in light of your new awareness of energy as vortexes or wells of real energy directed by geometric space.

pharmakeia

as above so below

order and dischord

motion and stillness

music as the space between silence

listening to the spell we cast around us through the habits of self wakes up a soul to cast aside the useless and embrace the sacred.

geometric habits even stretch to effect the ergonomics of our big fat american asses habits in front of the computer. Although the effects of geometric principles in operating systems and the 60hz frequency of our "grid" is another thread altogether.

Resistance to geometry is the power to REORGANIZE it. Beauty is in the individuals power to find the Golden Mean in their life. (zen gardens, sacred geometry, etc)

vashts

I probably don't train as much as any of you, but I don't care about the way my room looks as long as the piles settle the right way.  If I go to look for something my room seems trashed when I'm done, but after a while everything resettles, I get used to it, or both.

halfphased

I have been taking the view as of late that the outside world is a reflection of what is going on inside of me.  So, I accept the messes for what they are and do not let their existence unbalance me although they may be indicating an imbalance...

Taking this view it would seem that if my most personal of rooms (my bedroom) is the messiest room that I come across then maybe I have some house cleaning to do inside of me.

Of course, this assumes that you hold as a concept: "mess" == "bad" / "nonproductive"
If you don't then I can not see it beeing a concern for you.  I would have a hard time believing that anyone could prove "mess" == "bad" / "nonproductive" as being an ultimate truth.

You create your belief system and that's what you have to work with, so if you feel that you need an excuse to clean your house...  hehe

It would be a good exercise regardless.  Maintain the balance of your mind while cleaning up your room or house.

Maybe it says something to be able to maintain your energy work in any condition

or

maybe it says something to see that trying to do energy work in certain places is nonproductive.

"you work out your own salvation"

pharmakeia

Any attempt to do energy work in an room that's not seasoned is still energy work. But I challenge a seeker to listen to the music under harmonic influence (such as a amphitheater) or right under high voltage power lines.

It's not hard to see. Quit ignoring the facts of non-interactive laziness and the consumptive habits of western civilization breeding "messes" that "settle".

You are what you surround yourself in. Including being a mess.
