Sounds like the experience was a near projection, I've had several similar happen and they can be weird!
You need to stop telling yourself things. If you can't think positive it's best not t think at all http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_wink.gif" border=0> What I mean is, don't hold any specific expectations except that you will do it. And just keep at it until you succeed.

And I'm sure you'll find this forum filled with people offering to help out.

welcome, hopefully you have come to the right place. The thing I like about the site is that people talk from their experiences, not their beliefs.Don't negate your experiences, it really is not all that hard to project- it sounds like you had a good start because it can get really weird. The great thing about Astral Dynamics is it gives you the techniques to make AP a repeatable experience.

In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

Hello everyone, just thought I'd say a bit about myself before I start posting on the boards. On the subject of Astral Projection I'm of fairly limited knowledge/experience. I've never really believed in Clairvoyance, Astral Projection, etc, since none of it has ever happened to me, and I've never known anyone who's experienced it.

At one point I read some of Sylvan Muldoon's book (I forget exactly what it's called) and figured I'd give projection a try (I had also read some articles and projection techniques on the net).

One night over a year ago I laid down on my bed to attempt one of the projection techniques I read about. It involved imagining myself standing beside my bed staring down at myself. I could supposedly then project my body into the standing version of myself. After about a half hour of this, nothing had happened (this is somewhat obvious since it was my first time, but I was naively optimistic) and I was starting to get frustrated and sleepy, so I decided to give it five mintues, then quit. (Just a quick note, I have had experience with meditation.)

Suddenly, I started to feel very warm and fuzzy, and after a few seconds, it felt like my lower arms and legs shot up into the air, at a 45degree angle. The weird thing was I could still feel my arms and legs resting on the bed. Both sets of arms and legs were sending me sensations, and it was an extremely odd sensation, coupled with the fuzzyness. I got very excited and broke my consentration. Instantly the feeling was gone, having only lasted max 10 seconds. Afterwards I felt extremely worn out, as if I had just run a 10 mile race, and fell asleep shortly after.

I'm not sure if this was an astral projection, but instead of this experience encouraging me to attempt it again and practice, I somehow lost interest, most likely due to some emotional events and laziness.

Over a year later I'm finally interested again, and am in a position to practice. I have Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics book, and am hoping to teach myself. The only problem I have is that I often tell myself things like this are to good to be true (I'm somewhat self destructive like that), and lose faith. So I'm hoping you guys are a supportive online community I can discuss various aspects of Astral Projection/metaphysics in general with, because everyone else I talk about it with automatically dismisses it as lies and false information. I'd like to think it's more than that, and possibly someday I will be able to Astral Project.

Hope to hear from some of you soon,

Sanity Foam.
