    i think that this topic is better left to a more "protected" atmosphere...for example, a qigong master doesnt go around advertising lots of damaging ways to apply chi/qi...
    on that note darkheaven, i think that there are only a certain number of different ways to psychically drain someone as there is possibilities in one's imagination.  once you get the basic idea of how it is done, ie-the plutonian "why", or what is a person's basic need or intention for an attempted energy draining of another person; then protection and preventative measures are quite easy and practical.  my 2 sense.  namaste

draining another person's energy does not make you dependent on other human's energies.  i have made a practice of feeding off of crowds, and in a low energy setting, such as an office or classroom, have fed off of classmates.  i have never experienced side effects.  when i stop feeding off of people, my energy body returns to gathering energy from the environment i'm in.

human energy is just another form of energy.  there's nothing special about it.

well, you're right, i thought rather about feeding only on human energy, there are opinions that life energy is different than other energies (more solid), and vampires are stuck on humans nevertheless that they can drain energy from the environment to power up their abilities (it's presented by Winged Wolf, as i recall)

of course we have developed energy body so there is no trouble, but if you get used to draining others energy you weaken your own system in the long run

gathering off the crowds is not vampirism, they give their energy around voluntarily, yet unconciously

if you look around older topics you'll see that there is more to it, i think there are different kinds of energy, for example chi(gathered from muscle tension) or psi (during relaxation), these at least i have experienced and i'm capable of controlling,apart from life energy and divine energy, the question is: is the difference only in form, or in the nature of energy

i'm yet to explore it deeper, but it's not high in my "to do list"

i can drain but i'm not affected by what you call low level energy environment, maybe becouse i have good shields, or i just vibrate at higher frequencies,

i give off energy to everything and in turn i produce more, and receive that energy back from them couse they start producing and so on and so on,

it must be unconditional and you have to have weakened or remowed body armouring (tensions of body from stored emotions, sense of separatness from the uniwerse, it's a lot of work but certainly pays off)

i know some methods...

1) tested on a friend, who ticked me off one day, tooked me 1 or 2 minutes to gibe him a bad headache.

i imagined (with open eyes, stearing at him) his energetic field and riped it off, and sucked the bastard...not nice, i don't do this kind of stuff...it was like taking wis head (drawn in the energetic field)

2) the anchor method (from some people that know a lot about this things) you imagine a big anchor behind them, hanged in the 2nd chakra in the spin. a hole there and the energy that drowns from them. i didn't tried this but i think that works very good.

3) a direct link between solar plexus. i use this to give energy, works very good, and i think that works very good taking energy.

Daem0n spoked about "tentacles", if you could explain more about this, i have a picture about how, but just a picture.

there are lots of discutions about shields, from what i understand there are not quite good because stops the ESP development.

The best way I know to protect about psychic vampirism is to regard it as a call to growth and then to do what needs to be done to move my energy to another frequency that is "unpalatable"   I don't usually check back, but from what I have seen it would appear that the feedback loop on said vamp is a disincentive to further conscious vampirism.  The trouble is, when "vamped" I'm usually too tired and tapped out to be thinking higher thoughts.  It's one reason the old "God Bless XXXX" (or whatever your version may be) applied to enemies and antagonists is so effective.  Done right, it shifts YOUR energy.

Using this technique, I don't need to know anything about their methods.  All I need to have is enough self awareness to know that I'm being drained.

That's not as easy as it might seem.  Like most gifted people I was born with taps installed and having this go on seems "normal"  So I have to learn and grow all the time, just to break even.

And interesting (and frustrating) side effect was the discovery that there's a level of psychic vampirism that's built in to all groups.  I think the way it's SUPPOSED to work is that we all give off excess energy and we all have needs so it just goes out into this pool and the shared resources are part of what hold us together as a group.  Trouble is, one or the other of us has this conditoning that sorts us into the "giver" or "taker" group.  If you're a conditioned "giver" you put off more than you should and others get addicted.  If you're a "taker" you take more than you need and others get depleted and have to make it up somewhere.

Toss in emotions and normal human need and it all gets whackier and more interesting.

I have no answers about this, only questions.  I think there's a piece of this that's really healthy.  I just don't know where the balance might be.

The only kind of psychic vampirism I'm familiar with is the more psychological type, where someone is abusing someone else.

It's easy!  Here's how:  Get someone "hooked" on your energy--make them think you are the friend they've been waiting for, the person who will understand them and help them get started on their path.  Act like you know mysterious and fantastic things that you will only share with someone who is special enough to deserve your knowledge.  Give out just enough warmth to make them want to be with you as much as possible.  Don't give too much or they'll expect it all the time, and you don't want to waste your energy on others, of course.

Then steadily beat them down with subtle insults and play mind games with them that makes them question their sanity.  Act irrationally and blame them, but maintain your calm, reasonable demeanor so that pretty soon they start thinking THEY are the ones who are behaving irrationally, because you say so.  Pick them apart and focus exclusively on their flaws while never admitting to your own.  Make yourself seem better than them, all the while emphasizing how sorely lacking in EVERYTHING they are.  

Criticize their friends and family as much as possible.  You don't want them talking to other people who might have a more rational opinion of what's going on.  If you sense they're talking to a friend who is encouraging them to get away from you, put down that person immediately.  Just act like you can't believe how stupid your victim is for not realizing what a dangerous and manipulative "friend" this person is.

Pretty soon they're so miserable, confused, and low on energy that they cling to you for help because they believe you when you say that you are the answer to their problems if only they weren't so stupid and would stop resisting what you say.  Then you can make yourself feel great with the energy you steal from them.  They just give it to you without even realizing.  You can put them down as much as you like and use that to make yourself feel better about your own pathetic life.  It works great!  

But you have to keep doing it!  If you let them get away, you'll have no one to distract you from your own misery.  Gotta keep an iron grip and keep 'em hanging on.  As soon as you sense they are starting to wake up from your spell, do something incredibly sweet and nice to make them think, "He/She isn't so bad!  I should judge them so harshly."  Mete out your rewards carefully.  Make them so rare that every one is even more delicious to your victim.

It helps to pick on the mentally imbalanced, especially those who are kind-hearted.  That way you can draw them in by acting sad and lonely, and they naturally want to help you however you can.  Take what they give and always demand more.  They're nice--they're going to keep giving it to you until there's nothing left.

And if something does happen and they get away, then make sure everyone knows how worthless they are, and how glad you are that you no longer have to waste time on their crazy asses.  You tried really hard to help them, you know, but they just wouldn't listen. Tell everyone stories about how insane your former victim is--it's okay to make up things, but it's best to pick something that actually happened and then embellish wildly.  It's harder to deny things that are at least partially true.

Move on to the next victim.

Heh, nope.  But I have met many people like that.  It's like they can smell people who are depressed and vulnerable, and they know exactly what to do to "enslave" these people.  Sometimes they don't realize that's what they're doing, and other times they are perfectly aware and just enjoy having someone to suck dry.

another one is critisizing yourself in the open, so people feel bad and want to make you happy giving you their energy, it's not so extreme as suicide one, but far more common
