I am fairly certain most people go through this stage.  The "Hey, something is happening here..Whoa this is cool, and weird, and...." stage. Before ya know it your mind is racing, and you lose your cencentration.  The only way I know of getting past this is with practice.  Pre-exit sensations, especially at first, can be very intense.  If I may offer a suggestion...the next time you decide to meditate accept that for that session, your goal will not be to have an OBE, but rather to become familiar and comfortable with the experience itself.  When you start to experience the sensations of falling/expanding/tingling/snapping/crackling/popping, what have you...do your best to just ride it out, and know that you are experincing what many astral travelers have before you, and that it is perfectly natural.

What helps me is just ignoreing it. If you stop to think and analize what you are feeling and expirencing, your session will end.

Just ignore it. Acknolige that its there, but pay no attention to it, just let it be, let it run its course.

when i attempt astral projection i go through the following stages-

1. I become relaxed and hear a hissing noise which i try to concentrate on.

2. My limbs become numb and i concentrate on my right arm which slowly lifts.... i can feel it rising but there is no strain on it which is wierd.

3. my heart rate becomes very noticable and increases slighty

at stage number 3 i feel a wierd sensation like im extremely light and this makes me become very aware and the excitement and oddness of this feeling snaps me right out of it.

does anyone have a method of controlling there feelings at this point?

also i tryed the same method in the morning once and felt like i was moving round my room BUT!! my body felt like it was contorting round the place like an elastic band and it was quite unpleasent and made me snap out of it :(

Please enlighten me with your wisdom experienced OBE'ers :)
