The only way to know for sure what would happen is to allow yourself to be sucked in. It sounds like it would be an interesting experience, but naturally from the perspective of reading about it afterward I can't know how it actually felt.

The only technique I learned for going out of body from a dream is to dream that you are going back to your body and then do a projection technique to cause separation. It is supposed to be easier than doing it from a waking state. Waking up somewhat if it happens on the initial return to the body will also help with the chances for recall later.

Ive had a similar experience with having the sucked in feeling - ive been laying there in my bed and im in a sort of conscious sleep where its nothing but darkness and ive felt my body sinking and then being pulled backwards via my back, sort of sinking into something - ive always woken up straight away though.

Well I had some interesting event's last night. I went through my usual relaxation. I started losing track of my body. I felt the normal shift in my state where the mind becomes in focus and centered. I never get over that feeling even though I stay calm. Everything went pitch black and it all began to get heavy. So I started pulling my thought's? out. I was not thinking about a body. It was like pulling a brick wall but finally I felt like I got out. It was still black. I decided to make my way through my door into the hall. When I did the light in the hall became visible.

I thought "wow I am out" and continued into the living room. My girlfriend was watching TV (in the experience and in real life) and I thought "she can't see me". So I crouched down and watched her. She turned and looked right at me. She then smiled and I thought "what the?" and did not move. It dawned on me that this was not a projection but some kind of dream. Instead of thinking clearly about using it to continue lucid or trying to force some projection.. I decided to wake up and try again. I woke up.

The blackness came back again real quick. It feel's like I would assume water going down a drain. Rapid and you are getting sucked into it. Very quick. At the least second I pulled back hard mentally (fear?) and it woke me up.

Now I have a question for everyone

1. what would happen if I allow myself to just sink into the blackness? would I fall asleep or black out and exit?

2. How can I exit from a lucid dream?

I would ask anyone who has any insight or shares any experience relating to my post to share if they do not mind.
