He says they are their own little persons that are connected. He even mentions that they are linked. Bottom of page 52.

quote:

Duality sensations are an occasional side effect of the mind-split, caused, I believe, by the silver cord, which is the two-way energetic linkage connecting the physical/etheric body with its projected double.

Edit: heheheh... "commecting..."
I need a signature that isn't stupid. :/

I dont think there is any mind copying involved in astral projection. The mind can move between physical and energy bodies instantly.

This ain't windows NT we're talking about, its your being. I'm new to this field but common sense would have it that your mind would be able to access information from both presences, but most often this would overload it, so it chooses the most dominant.

I picked up Astral Dynamics on wednesday...if you don't have it, get it!  Anyways, I read the whole mind-split theory and I noticed a huge hole in it and wanted the opinions of some more experienced people.  Basically, Robert says that a copy of the original mind is placed in the projected body, and the physical body has the original master copy.  He goes on to state that they record memories separately, and the physical body only knows the astral body's memories upon merging back together and downloading these shadow memories.  Heres the problem though...his experience in the book with astral feedback said that the physical body and the astral body could see from eachothers eyes.  How is this possible is there is no real "link" between the two until re-merging and downloading?  If his physical could see what the projected body was seeing, then the physical would in fact be recording the projected double's memories, and there would be no download.  I hope this makes sense...I think you need to read the book first to understand.  Opinions on the mind-split effect and if it is a valid theory or not?
