Bruce Lee-

Styles he trained in: kung fu (Northern Shaolin style, I believe), and jeet kune do (his own style that he came up with, trying to do away with what he thought was unneeded traditional exercises).

He has trained since he was a very young child, about five years old.

Bruce Lee majored in philosophy at Washington State.

He fought because of the discipline he knew was required. He had it. Most people don't. Racist people tried to keep him down, but he overcame that because he wasn't about to let it consume him or become something else because of it.

Bruce Lee is said to have fought a demon while in meditiation, but according to his biographical movie, "Dragon," he fought the demon while shooting the mirror scene at the end of "Enter the Dragon."

Any other questions?

By the way, he mentions a lot of Zen-Buddhism and the Tao in his book of quotes, Striking Thoughts. I don't know what religion he was but I believe he was a Zen-Buddhist.

Bruce Lee started his training around 5 years of age. Initially he was to study traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu, under the instruction of Master Yip Man. In his earlier years he studied Wing Chun and other similar mainland styles of kung fu. But as he grew older, he became less interested in the different style, but rather, he broke down fighting styles untill they were in their most basic forms. Its all ver hard to explain about jeet kun do, but essentially, it isnt actually a style, rather, a form of thought, a form of action, a way of being. Bruce Lee was essentially a taoist, but once again, one cannot classify taoism as his "religion" because essentially, taoism isnt even a religion. Of all the eastern ways, taoism is possibly the most difficult to interpret from a western point of view. Bruce Lee was probably the geartest fighter that ever lived, but thats not the point, he was a philosopher, a philosopher of the body, of the mind, his philosophy was not in words, but in movements. If you are interested in his styles, way of thinking, the best book i can recommend is "Tao of Jeet Kun Do"..
