Shape-shifting

I have to agree with about everything mentioned in this thread. I was only referencing books because many people like documented proof of things. I too think anything is possible, and just because it's not in a book, or said differently in a book, doesn't make something "so" or "not so", that's all.

I'm sure there are some marvelous experiences of shape shifting into the physical! I also believe in bilocating, but that's another topic.[]

No, I don't think bi-locating is off topic. If you can be in one body one place, and another in another place, it could be an animal form you take as your second body, could it not?
I just popped in. In an hour I'm leaving for a nine-hour trip toward the Arctic Circle. Wayyyy up north. I'll ask my aunt about shape-shifting. She is Dene, and they are very traditional there with little contact with the modern world. The Inuit are even more magical. With the harshness of the weather, almost total darkness 7 months of the year, you can imagine the psychic powers they've developed. Will report back on what I learn.

I'm not sure if bi-location is completely on or off topic based on being an animal in a mind split. I've always thought of shape shifting as taking your current physical body and changing it for the purpose od specific abilities. However if you could grow another mind connected to yours and make that body do some type of work that your current physical body cannot, then by all means call it shape-shifting!

Can we change the definition for clarity though? Shape-shifter could be defined as someone who could make ANY shape change form, including their own, with a single ability. Changeling could be defined as someone who could use a skill to only change their form into something else, living. Don't have an action word for changeling though (sorry). Maybe changelinging? []

I'd hate to need to fall asleep in order to shape-shift though. I definately don't want to look drunk either.

Lastly, I'm wondering if there is anyone out there reading this forum who are shape-shifters or changelings. I'd love to talk to them about how they do it and what it feels like!

I once knew of an old Native elder who could change into a black dog and run to meetings etc. when he was late. How is it possible to be in the astral and take physical form? Do you just create the animal's body or do you use an existing one?
