seeing aura for first time

It could be your aura, it couldn't be too much other things.
There are not many things that are seem like coloured smoke surrounding your body then I guess it could be the aura.
Tell me how did you try to see it and I will tell you if you used auric vision.

putzing around on the computer is like staring at a lightbulb for an hour.  it can do weird things to your eyes/brain.  also- do you have flourescent lights in the room.

were you relaxed.  typing isn't all that stressful... try and relax in a naturally lit place and see if you can see the phenomena again.  the smoke/steam effect is what i had begun to see when i started to see chi and other etheric energies.

I was staring at my bookcase, with my hands in the forefront.  I saw the wisps and thought that something was wrong with the books.  My focus was on the books and not on my hand.

I then looked at my hands and still saw the wisps.  I focussed my eyes on my hands and saw the blue hue around the fingers.  To test, I looked at the wall for 10 seconds, then looked back at my hands.  They had less of a hue but if I unfocussed my eyes they turned a deep purple.

I refocussed on my hands and the sharpness disappeared but the color still stayed.

Be skeptical, thinking perhaps my eyes were strained, I tried again in the doctors office three hours later, and after several false starts, was able to reproduce the same effect.

I will try tomorrow early in the morning before I get on the computer and see if it was just eye strain.

I was reading messages on the forum when I looked at my hand and saw what looked like smoke wafting from my fingers.  
I wiped my hand, thinking it could be steam, and noticed a blue hue in between my fingers.
As I stared longer, the blue hue grew all around my hand but was still kind of faint.  Then the phone rang and it disappeared.  Even now as I am typing I can still see the smoke like things coming off my hands.  Is this the aura I am seeing or is this some other phenomina.
