Predicting the future?

However, it is important to keep open to other possibilities. I would like to suggest something.

Perhaps you kept on having this recurring dream because there was something that you needed to tell your gran or she needed to tell you. Perhaps she was gradually fading away because no one (including yourself) was paying attention to her? She kept on doing what she was doing, even when someone was "locked" in a room with her.

Just a possible take... my two cents.

Well that is a possibility, although I spent an awful lot of time with her throughout my childhood right up to when she had her stroke when I was 17. I was always talking to her and vice versa.

The strange thing was that when she had her stroke when I was 17, it seemed as though she was gradually fading away because even though she was there physically, I couldn't hold a conversation with her because of the damage that the stroke did to her.

Maybe the dream was a premonition and maybe it was telling me to make the most of whatever time I had left with her, and it might have been telling me that my gran will still be there even though I can't actually see her - hence the empty rocking chair. Maybe it was telling me that there's no escape from the situation - hence the factt hat I was locked in that room.

But you could be right. Any more thoughts?

When I was a child, I had this re-occurring dream where I would be walking down a dark corridor and I would reach a door at the end of the corridor. I opened the door and stepped into a room that was bare and completely white. In the middle of this room, my gran was sitting in a rocking chair doing her knitting. She was rocking the rocking chair. As I turned around to go back out of the room, the door slammed shut. I tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. So I turned around to face my gran and she just carried on doing what she was doing. Only the thing was, she was gradually fading away. Eventually she completely disappeared, but the rocking chair carried on rocking.

When I was 18, my gran died from a massive stroke. But she had a stroke when I was 17 but she couldn't speak or anything. When my gran died, the dream stopped repeating itself.

Do you think the dream could have been a premonition?
