RE - Jumping from bamboo stick to bamboo stick and running up walls.
I think some of the stories from the past contained metaphore. Actions described as physical achievements probably described a spiritual truth or process. Hollywood would tend to ignore this when making a movie.

As for increasing your longevity - I just don't think that we're supposed to be bound to this earth for longer than is natural. Surely to defy the order of things would require massive fortitude. I see it like an ant trying to stop the world rotating.

That's just my personal opinion though so don't think I'm trying to tell you the way it is because I don't really "know" anything. [:)]

Your as powerfull as you "think" you are, thats all I want to say.

BOATS

I have seen documentaries of Indian Yogis who can poke a pin through there arm and control the blood flow, slow there heart to such a faint pulse it's undetectable.  I mean they can really do some amazing things.  Just the dumbest person with no spiritual training can cause an erection just by thought.  ThinK about it, it's true.  I have been thinking about studying some of there theories and methods myself.  I have seen people walk on hot coals in Bali with apparently no feeling. The mind is more powerful then I thought it was.  Ever since I was a child I have always been fasinated by space travel.  I always knew however the only way for humans to really travel was the spirit of the Mind or Soul.

Hmm what an excellent idea!
I'll start programming my subconsciousness to heal myself, pronto! [:D]
If we compare us to infinitely small,
that will make us infinitely big,
but if we compare
ourselves to infinitely
big, it will make us infinitely small.
What is our size again?

I recently saw the movie Kill Bill Volume 2. For those not fimiliar with this movie, there is a scene where a certain character is describing a story to another character in the movie. The story been described is basically about some monk/samurai who lived aroung the time 1020 BC (or AD. one or the two, it isn't important). (I can't remember the exact date, but yeah it was like a thousand years ago or so). What the story is about isn't important, what IS important is the fact this monk lived a VERY long time ago, and later on in the movie you find the monk is still very much alive and well, although he does look about 60/70ish years old.

SO anyway, the point I'm trying to get here is: Back in the day when there were alot of monks, and the samurai order was far more known and alive etc etc, alot of these very well trained people were very likley well accustomed with the thought of mind over body, meditation and all the rest of it. In fact, alot of these people spent a long time in meditation, training the mind and as a result they were believed to be able to achieve considerible feats of physical exploits (such as been able to jump very high, run up walls, run along bamboo sticks from tree to tree, lightening reflexes etc etc, you know, all the stuff you see in the movies [;)]). This also includes the possibility to live a considerable length compared to normal human patterns.

Based on this, I'm starting to think that if you trained your mind to heal your body, rejuvenate itself, you can potentially live a much longer time than a normal human example. If you think about it, there is no reason why your body can not heal itself. I'm talking about the major internal organs here, for example the heart, I can't see why you can not heal it so that when you get to the age of 90 or whatever, you don't just have a heart attack (as an example). I mean, alot of people have beaten things like cancer, aids, and other deadly and incurable states, and alot of those people have believed that they have simpley done it because they "knew" they would beat it, it was just a matter or using their mind. So why not then, can you take it a step further and train your mind to heal your body, and as a result, live a considerable lengthy life?

I would very much like to hear some comments on this thought, and if anyone knows of any such examples of anyone doing this already, please point them out to me.

Comments appreciated.....
