Hi Odyssey,

Look like you are doing better than you think, and you are not alone with this type of experience and there is really nothing to fear here! I appreciate is can be unnerving, but I have had similar before including an occurrence only a couple of weeks ago!

I suspect you may have gone out of body, but as you were disturbed by your furry friend your physical body awoke and you perceived your astral body trying to get back to you. The accentuated tingly feeling tends to go hand in hand with this! This is covered in Astral Dynamics under 'The Mind Split Effect, but also in Robert Bruce's treatise on Astral Projection (see: article on the main site).

Regarding astral vision: next time you experience muddy or a lack of apparent sight, consciously try to ask for more focus and you should find your astral vision becoming clear!

Hope this helps,

Literally say to yourself "focus now" and then "clarity now" and your vision should instantly come clearer. It really works! [:)]

Odyssey

today I woke up around 12ish noon because as usual, somebody was calling our house. anyhow. once my mom left for work I fell back to sleep (i have no room, i sleep in the living room and i hear everything that goes on in the morning) anyhow, once my mom left for work i decided to sleep in her room since the sofa wasn't very comfortable. laying there, I felt it was a good time to astral project. for one thing, I didn't have much food inside myself,..which I've heard can sometimes hinder the AP experience,..and for another, I was sleepy, yet awake and had gotten just the right amount of sleep (for me about 5 hours) to induce an AP.
Falling back to sleep I thought of vibrating. that's all I thought about as I drifted off. next thing I know I feel it start inside me and eminate outwards. I started hearing electrical sounds,..although, I don't think I was quite suscessful in fully seperating my astral self from my physical body. this has been a probelm for me for the past few projection attepts. I don't seem to have enough "fuel" to reach "escape velocity" does anyone know how to do this?
I twisted and turned while blindly projecting, there were a few momments where I would look around the room trying to seperate with my eyes open. I saw a shadow, or what I thought was a shadow, actually this is part of the reason I partially stalled. I wasn't sure if it was merely a shadow or a spirit of some type so I got scared. the dog was scratching at the bedroom door and barking because she wanted in. I got up and went back into the living room and went to sleep back on the sofa. I felt "staticy" like my aura got put in the dryer for an hour or two. i felt tingly all over. it was rather odd. I want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience? I believe I've reached the point where I can conciously project, the only problem is not being blind while astral. I have astral vision when I accidently project, but not when I do it conciously. what's up with this?
