A conscious-conflict problem

Hello,

Today I had a conversation with someone who had the 3 Reiki attunements. My subject here is not about Reiki but about the 'asking-money'-concept of most healers I know.

This person also had a huge problem with the 'commercial' issues involved. She decided to use it within relatives and friends only and charge nothing for it.

I often ask my self: if this is what I can do and want, I have to ask money in order to live but...
How can I ask for something which is not mine and therefor mine to sell?

Someone recognizes what I try to say here? Ideas about this and how you deal with this would be much appreciated!

Perhaps this post was in the wrong forum or something.
Maybe no-one wants to burn fingers on the subject?

Is the still someone out there with an opinion about htis?

Hi Aldo,
I can only tell you what I would do if I were in such a similar situation.

If I provided a service that brought others comfort and also brought me happiness in return for performing such a service, I would ask only for what ever that person could spare, be it money or returning the favour in some other way.

I know that this probably sounds like a very idealistic answer, especially if one has bills to pay or a family to support, it may also require or mean a change in ones current way of living too.

Why not try putting a little money aside or take a part time job to provide an additional income whilst you try working like this for say six months to see if you have any success?

If your venture doesn't work out as you had wished then you will have lost nothing but become a little wiser and more experienced.

On the other hand if people are impressed with your work then word will soon spread and even the smallest offerings and favours from your customers will soon add up.

I'm sure if people value your work and your heart is in what you do then the rewards will soon follow.

I went through the same circles, and I came up with this:

I feel that it is okay to charge, but what you are charging for is your TIME.  Your not charging for the energy, the attunements, or anything other than your time.  

At this point, I just offer it for free.  I work at a 'new age' bookstore, and on saturdays I give free healings all day long. It's taught me to just let go and have no expectations, which invites all the abundance into my life that ive ever wanted.  It's a beautiful space to live in.  Kind of a catch 22...the moment you let go of everything is the moment your open to recieve it.
