Seeing an aura?

Nosra, I am also new at this, but I have been seeing auras the last few days. For instance, I was talking to my friend the other day and I clearly saw around her a white aura and a light green outline. I looked away from her and looked at her again thinking I was just staring to long but it was there again. I was at work yesterday and a co-worker was talking to me and I saw bright red around her head. Again I looked away and turned to look at her again and it was there. I had to tell her about it. I think she thought I was weird but it was so vivid. I hope this helps a little. Karen

Karen, that sounds just like what I experience.  It's funny because I saw the light green/white color around my hand when I looked at it last night.  Pretty cool stuff.  :-)

Hi.. i first started seeing auras of other things before humans...Like different colored candles.. I tried a blue candle and around it i saw orange lighting..A pink candle and around it i saw light green...stuff like that.. Seeing the auras of humans can be a little bit harder. So try to see your own aura first by just looking at your arm or hand and see if you notice any "energy"....Sometimes you might not notice the color at first but you will see the energy...

I have also seen this white/green fuzz around my hand. Either this is a  common illusion or we are seeing auras, though I am not sure as I have just started this. I like how TamiaStar puts it, it looks like energy. I do not know how to describe it any better. Fuzz just is not quite right.

Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Something interesting just happened and I thought I would share. I was sitting down just looking at my hand. This energy that I usually see looked different today. It looked like a dark blue color, usually it is clear, white, or greenish. Anyway I was looking at my finger and suddenly it flared up for about 3-5 seconds. It was a very distinct, very bright baby blue color. This is the first time this has happened and it surprised me, especially since I was not trying too hard to see anything, just casually looking at my hand. So is this what we are suppose to see when we see auras? Bright distinct colors?

Hi Nosra,
I have been reading about Aura's for about 1 month now. I became very interested in them after reading a book called "The Celestine Prophecy." I downloaded everything i could about the subject and read every little piece of information. I wanted results quickly though. I started straight away on a person and I think this was not the right first step for me. I have just seen my first Aura about 15 minutes ago. I was looking at a blue bag with a cream background. It was night and i had the light in my room on. I stared for about 5 minutes shifting my focus slightly and after a while i could definately see yellow light. It was very definated and nothing like the after image which i could also see. This aura would dissapear if i let my eyes unfocus slightly just like i read in the training guide. I didnt think it was possible for me but you gotta start out small and give it time. It wont happen straight away but training with solid blue and a cream background worked best for me. Give it a try. Good luck!

Hi Nosra,

I've read a lot of literature about seeing auras, including RB's "training to see auras" guide. There's a great deal of it that I've dismissed because of the after-image effect, and I confess to find this also the case with Robert Bruce's exercises. I'm afraid I have to disagree with his statement that afterimages only occur after about 30 seconds. This can happen within 10 seconds.

After-images are the result of light-receptive cells in the eye de-sensitising or "switching-off" from looking at a particular solid object too long - a part of the natural "persistence of vision" process that our eyes require to work. When you close or move you're eyes, this changes the state of these cells and they switch back on again, giving you the negative-like colour effect.

I think that unfortunately people who have already developed the talent of auric sight tend to forget about the after-image effect. I tend to disagree that light relections given off by inanimate objects can produce a living aura. I do believe though that Robert's exercises are more aimed at getting your focus right - learning to look past an object while paying attention more to your peripheral vision.  The rest of it works from energising your brow or third-eye energy centre.

I have successfully seen an aura - my own, by practicing using the bathroom mirror at home. Unfortunately I haven't kept up the practice so I haven't seen much since (slack of me I know). I found that the first aura I saw was around my head and shoulders, the one that is directly around the body (the etheric aura). You'll know when you see this aura as it is alive - it moves and pulsates. I know some might disagree that this is correct, but they might be seeing more than just the etheric aura, as the ones further out - the emotional and mental auras don't move around as much.

im going to disagree with james here.  This happened a few months after reading the aura training guide.  i was wearing a red jumper and lying on my stomach with my head resting on my arms.  I was looking over my arm at the wall when i noticed a distinct green aura around my jumper-nothing like the usual bland-coloured after image.  i took my jumper off and got in the same position and saw no aura, i then put the jumper back on and the aura was back- straight away.

nothing/no-one ever dies, they just change form.

James S

Rachel,

When you look look at your red jumper and see the green around the jumper, if you move you're eyes to one side slightly does the green follow your gaze, or does it stay around the jumper?

Reason I ask is green is the negative or inverse image of red. The brighter the red, the brighter the green.

If you move you're eyes after seeing the aura, and the aura moves with you're eyes, then it is afterimage.

Now please don't let me put you off here, you may very well be looking at an aura, and I could be wrong.
I could be making the mistake of thinking that everyone else's eyes work  the same as mine. There is a general consistency in the way our eyes work, but I might just be far more susceptible to afterimage than others. It might also be that your brow centre is more highly developed than mine, and you are naturally able to see auras far more easily than I.

When I was able to see my own aura, I deliberately tried to remove the afterimage effect by just slightly & slowly rocking from side to side. My focus remained the same but it prevented an afterimage from building because the image was shifting.

rachel

Hey James! i was so surprised at what i was seeing coz i wasnt even trying to see an aura so when i did see it i really did make sure it wasnt an after image.  the green stayed at the same distance from the jumper at all times.  although i dont mean to be i really am quite skeptical about things like this until i experience them for my self and this experience really made me believe seeing auras is possible (even around inanimate objects.)

James S

Rachel, That is so cool!!!
I'm sorry I doubted you.
I really had my doubts as to the effectiveness of RB's aura training method until I read your last post. I've not been able to get anywhere with his methods. I just keep getting afterimages all the time. I would also be skeptical of seeing auras If I hadn't already seen my own.

This is encouraging! I might have to go back and take another good look at RB's doco.

Thanks,
James.

Hi,
If im looking at auras and an aura appears, my eyes sort of move and gaze across to the aura like a immediate reaction but if I go too far the aura dissappears. Am i seeing auras or after-images? do other people sort of gaze at the aura?

Please reply because it is really getting on my nerves.

Yes. To hold an aura in your vision it must be gazed at. If you try to focus on it directly it will disappear instantly. It will then reappear just as fast, as soon as you return your eyes to a gazed focus. At least thats how it happens with me.

The very first aura I saw was a human aura. It was a bright yellow colour around my sisters head, extending about 10cm (she'd just finnined doing an IQ test, hence the reason for the colour "yellow"[intellect]). For me the colours don't usually appear straight away. It starts with just an illuminated glow, and then the colour(s) gradually becomes apparent. Hmmm.... maybe not. Just now I looked at my hand and instantly saw a bright blue aura (I've always seen this, it just usually doesn't happen as fast).

I reccomend hands for starting out with auric viewing. I find the aura around fingers and hands to be amongst the very easiest to see, for there's strong energy in that area.

Lately I've been reading the "training to see auras" guide, and I've tried some of the things in it, I think I've been seeing auras..but can't be sure..a lot of times, it seems just like an after-image. For example, I'll close my eyes..and the supposed aura will still be there. Now, since I don't know from experience, ANY help would be appreciated, and anyone who DOES see auras, if you could please describe what the look like. Thank you.
