People I just have to say this:
I think, I know that most of you are too busy looking for "the" energy. But instead, i see all these things, all different ideas, different "types" of energy.. This way you're only making it harder to find what you are lokking for.
And that what you are looking for, what you will eventually find is yourself!!!
There is only one you! And you are the only connecting between everything! You are the pathway between dream and reality. You are the endless energy. Find yourself, get to know yourself, and you'll be able to do al those things you want.
Believe i've been there, trying to visualize my energy grow and stuff, I've done it all, and i really mean all of it.
Now that I found my true self, one-ness, without having to feel, or visualize or whatever, I just "know" what I can do.

CaCoDeMoN

I don't understand what you are talking about...
What means "There is only one you!"? Could you explain this?

nice to see another one waking up, but you cannot understand it before you experience it, so noone is out there who would respond and wake up
good luck

I'm not sophisticated or on a "spiritual" path as far as I know. I'm here because I can feel what people call "chi" and I think I may have felt the beginnings of kundalini flow a few times. Very hot and some "squirmy" pressure/pulsation sensations in the spine. There is a distinct and directable "energy" flow that can be consciously moved-though simple visualisation alone doesn't work at all for me one little bit. Before discovered R.B's work I had to use real emotion big time, as I grew more practiced I noticed it was a more muscular sensation almost-certainly tactile. Now it's a lot easier.
Side effects include feeling that there is more of me present in the "now". So maybe moving chi and working with it brings more of "you" into the present reality perhaps.
I do work with the sensations I call kundalini feelings during my daily practice. Not because I know anything about the spiritual developement stuff. Simply because moving that stronger feeling energy makes my body and me feel stronger and "more".  I did do the questioning of the spiritual stuff years ago, but now I've stopped worrying about that part. Psychic abilities would be fun, but I've not experienced those particularly nor many other phenomena. So for now I have a useful toy, tool whatever to be played with. It's kinda life affirming, and assures me that the arch skeptical are pretty much wrong about the origins of consciousness. Anyway I'm just rambling now ain't I? Hope I didn't waste your time here :-) Just needed to type more than I intended.

"Looking for "the" energy" is not difficult. It's very easy, and yes it's part of you. Just some people are much more interested int the deeper, spiritual aspects of this and discuss that side more.
May your [insert choice of deity/higher power etc here] guide you and not deceive you!

You

There aren't three of me? I have seen some convincing look-alikes around, you'd better rethink your philosophy.

tro-flow

well actually there more of you. Like you have 7 chakra's you have 7 ways to be. But there's also the true you that stands alone. Or all together.
Like bruce lee said: To express oneself honestly, thats very hard to do.

karnautrahl

^^Now this just got tooo sophisticated for me :-). There's just me, that individual is rather simple I think.

Isn't it better to just enjoy life as you are than to seek your true self?

I think we all have different ideas as to what "enjoy life" actually means. For some it's simply being with their children, their loved ones etc. For others in this lifetime it's about exploration. For some of those explorers what makes them really happy is their search for themselves in a spiritual context. And for many they don't know what to enjoy life is.
So no. Just enjoy life is not quite enough of an answer I don't think for many. It's not for me.
Enjoying life consists of so many experiences and things I think.
I've met plenty of people who cannot enjoy life just are they are. They hate who they are, they have good reason in their eyes.
I've been there CaCoDeMoN. Just as you are changes thank heaven, but really when I was smoking weed for a time, when I was hitting weeks of low depression, there is no way on earth I could have just stuck with enjoying life as I was. I needed to attempt to find more of "me" and of the universe. Even if I didn't end up spiritual at least I've ended up with a happier life as a result big time.
Sorry but that phrase really really touched a nerve I think. I want to find what some might call my true self, actually it's just the feeling of deeper expanded awareness that comes from extensive energy work that I really really go for. :-)
As I said, you touch a nerve I think :-)

You

The chakras would be different aspects, parts of you, not different yous. You're fiddling with semantics.

tro-flow

So you agree on being your true self when using al chakra's at the same time? Have you ever been aware of a moment you've done such a thing? Mostly when that happens people are unaware of it. That's because being aware of it makes you think, or unbalance it in someway. But if you are able to be aware of using full capacity, this is possible by enjoying it btw, you whitnessing true expression of being, and that creates pure chi. That is golden. Only then are you on one line with nature, only then can your dreams flow over in reality.
This is the state u try to reach by meditating.

Tom

It is true that there are as many ways of experiencing energy as there are people who experience it. To further complicate things, everyone is constantly changing and the experience of energy makes those changes happen faster. What we needed was a way of talking about our experiences so that everyone can use a common vocabulary. Just talking about energy without going into detail serves this purpose.

tro-flow

Well.. From my experience, everytime I felt another energy, it came familiar. For example, the feeling of telekineses comes very familiar with moving my own body. But i'm a breakdancer so I have a lot of ways to do that :D
But a very strong sensation always returning when I learn something about energy is the feeling of a dream.

I'm saying this because, I'm used to talking in familiar sensation when it comes discussing energy with my friends.
Maybe we should try this. It is good for you creativity too :P

GorillaBait

There you go.  Everyone learn to breakdance and enlightenment will come.

Actually though, I have some personal thoughts about physical freedom that I'm hoping to experience one day.  The perfect body, perfect energy flow, ability to do anything with the body that occurs to you, seeing everyday objects in new ways (hey, I could climb that building!), etc.

NickJW

I always thought (though I may be wrong) that referring to the 7 chakras as the 7 yous, ment that there is a chakra that corresponds with each of the 7 planes of existense and since you have a different body in each plane, that means 7 yous. Or all the bodies together means just one you.

Badwuv

or maybe seven bodies and one you...or if there are seven yous do they think different things and reacted to different situations in the different planes? conmfusing...brain hurts

what's an interesting thing that I do to experience my "whole self" is to use all five of my physical sences to the maximum at the same time.  That means being able to feel throughout you entire body instead of just one area, see and comprehend eveything even in your perephial vision, smell every breath, and taste all at the same time.  I can't hold this state for very long, but it's interesting to do so and helps me increase my awareness when I need it, and it breaks the routine of being half-awake and oblivious to my surroundings...speaking of which, it's gonna be early morning soon...

You

Don't put down the break-dancing, that takes more talent than you'll have. It's something I want to try. Martial Arts Tricking is related and better of course :)

I've tried such thing many times when I was driving a car, it's amazing how much can be seen/felt at the same moment when brain is not occupied with thoughts....

No offense, I just wish I could understand 1/2 of the stuff you people talk about. I can't meditate, I have tried to feel energy, I've tried to activate chakras. Isn't it possible that some people just don't have the capability for this stuff?

This is not possible at all. If you do not feel the energy, you should try energywork in trance...

knucklebrain1970

Trance ha? What is required for trance? Let me guess, meditation. Why does all this stuff have to revolve around meditation? I have a difficult time meditating with constant noise in the house. The cat farts and I can hear it 2 floors down. An atom splits across the street in the woods? I hear it. Isn't there any other alternative to meditation?
