Thats weird. As a matter of fact I've had dreams where reality checks didn't work. Luckily, I knew I was dreaming anyway, for the last thing I remembered was performing the MILD technique in my bed.
If other reality checks fail, try rembering back as far as you can. If you cant recall anything beyond a certain point, or the last thing you remember is falling asleep, then your probably dreaming.

i had a dream the other night where i thought iwas flying.  i'm not sure if it was lucid or not because i didnt know i was dreaming but had total control over where i was going.  i started to levitate while meditating in my dream and i thought 'i gotta be dreaming.'  

i did the text and the light switch reality ck and neither one of them proved like they were supposed to that i was dreaming.  the letters stayed the same and the light went on and off.  i concluded that i wasn't dreaming and proceeded to a friends house to tell him how i learned to fly.  
 
the dream lasted about an hour or so and i really thought i could fly.  it was very dissapointing when i awoke .
