little kid who recently started showing up in my dreams

This might get long, so bear with me.

 Sometimes in my dream, I'd have a different set of "dream memories", like I would be in a place where I've never been in real life, but I'd know that place in my dream, I would recognize it and even remember being there on a previous occasion.

 This kid (little boy, looks about 10, dark hair) is like that; I know of no such person in real life (not now, not from the past), nor anyone who is remotely similar to him, yet in my dreams I recognize him and considers him a dear friend.

 The dreams with him in it started fairly recently, only about a month ago.  But in the roughly 1 month period I've had at least 3 dreams with him in it.

 Strange thing is, a lot of times the things in my dreams would shift, change shape, generally not be constant/stable, as things in dreams do.  But this kid stays constant.  He stays looking the same, "feels" the same (better way of saying this would be that he gives out the same vibes) and retains the same intentions (such as guiding me in a building I've never been to before, being my partner in a group contest, and being a companion travelling to the same place) even when the other things in my dreams start changing and shifting.

 What really puzzles me is this feeling of camaraderie that I feel when I'm with him.  He does not feel superior or inferior to me, but feels like a really good, old friend, and that we do things in the same style and knows what each other would be thinking before even telling it.

 After the first dream with him, I told myself to ask him for his name if he shows up again, even though he had already made it known to me in the first dream (which I forgot/am not sure of).  So when I became a bit lucid in the 2nd dream where I encountered him, I asked him what his name was.  He acted hurt, and somewhat frustrated; he had a "how can you not know!?" attitude, but still pointed to a sticker with his name written on it.  Too bad I was close to waking up and losing focus of the dream, and was not able to read it properly.

 The third encounter was really weird.  At first we were just travelling together, having a good time, but at the end I realized I was going to wake up soon, as things started shifting and getting blurry.  I waited in front of a big mirror, for him to catch up to me (for we got separated briefly).  I hear him approaching from behind, but I see in the mirror a big, hideous humanoid shadow.  

 Since I knew I was losing my focus on my dream, I realized my vision at this point was not reliable.  But still the shadow in the mirror made me question what the kid really was and also, his intentions.  Intuitively I somehow knew that my sense of touch/feeling was still trustworthy, so I requested for him to hold onto my hand.  When he grabbed my hand, I felt that it was a human hand, and that it was incredibly warm.  Not just warm in a physical sense, but also an emotional sense as well.  I never felt such a warmth in my dreams before (heck,  never in real life as well), and felt sad that I would awaken in any second and not be able to hold on to him anymore.  Of course, then I woke up, still remembering the warmth and sadness.

 Anyway, what the heck's this kid about?  Is he some subconscious part of me, or something else?  I didn't bother to go in the details on the dreams where he was featured, but listed only the parts that really puzzled me.  Any insights on this would be appreciated, since he's got me confused, especially after what happened at the end of that 3rd dream.

I have no idea how the kid relates to you. I have had a great horned owl in my dreams for many years, he always flies up to me to warn me about something. I have fondly names him sabastian kind of suits him.

I'm not very familiar with the concept of the "Higher Self".  Would you be so kind as to explain it to me, or perhaps relate some experience you've had with your Higher Self?

Hi VesAn,
Start with thinking about the human being we are, we have subtle bodies, etheric, astral and mental, etc..  which you can read about anywhere here.  'Above' all that is the Higher-Self, the Soul that we really are, and it is huge.  There is more beyond that level too, but it is not important now.

Some of us get to meet the Higher-Self that we are.  Most don't, yet.  It will appear to us in a way that is relevant to us, as it chooses how to appear to us.

When in contact with the Higher-Self we feel all the things that you described in your first post.  Which is why I am sure this is what you are meeting with in your LD's/nightly OBE's.

You are fortunate to have this contact in the way you are, and it means that you are ready to work with your own Guidance.  

Next time you are with this boy, ask him the questions you have always wanted to ask but never had the right person to ask.  Ask for a name, for you to use.  And ask what is the easiest way for you to make aware contact with him.

This is the start of an interesting growth curve for you if you apply yourself to it by putting in the effort needed.

You could use the projection method I share with everyone.  It can work very well if you practice it every day.  You will find it at my web pages on Geocities..  click the link in my signature, click on Spiritual, then The White Light method.  

It's very basic, but it does work very well for most people who use it properly... meaning to stick to it and practice it daily.

Other than that, you will need to remember through having experience what the Higher-Self you are in contact with is about, and why you are in contact now.  All this will become known to you as you work with it.

Lastly, enjoy it.  It is not always meant to be serious stuff, so have a little fun too.

Your advice is very helpful, thanks!  I've now some ideas on the stuff I should work on, and the directions I should go with, in regards to the kid.

Weird, I thought I posted but it vanished as I tried to submit it.  

I've been meeting a woman in my dreams, lately especially, when sometimes I get stuck or need instruction on something, or occasionally when I am asking a question, this lady shows up to help.  It's always a bit startling in the dreams how clearly she comes in and takes over.  She doesn't always "play along" with the rules of the dream, she'll just do what needs to be done.  She's very friendly, intelligent, and happy, but she could kick some serious butt if she had to. She's short & a bit stocky with curly brown hair, and is matronly in a way but not in a stodgy sense.

While dreaming things seem to get distorted and some times confusing; looks like I'm getting used to it.  

By the way, in my dreams (or some type of oobe) I always see a apparently beautiful town , but when I get closer , I see some kind of evil beings instead of regular people. I see this beings trying to posses other creatures to make them of their kind.    I'm not sure the way I should handle this dream, it could be just an hallucination during dream state.
