A couple of nights ago I realized i was dreaming, because i was dreaming of a huge apartment tower, and they always appear in my dreams.

Anyway, for the first time, I remembered to attempt to get out of my body. I simply try to reach for my physical body, and it worked. I didn't get any vibes, and everything was normal pitch black, but i was sure that my upper body was " loose " form the rest. I felt my non-physical arms sort of... swaying above me, and i tried to float up. I noticed i couldn't, because i was still attached to my feet.

I then tried to will my feet to let go of me, and the next thing i knew i was wide awake, and totally IB. ( in body, new abbreviation for you abbreviation lovers !  8) )

So what do you guys and girls think i did wrong ? Was it that i focused my attention to much on my body ?

Heart rate and breathing are typically the major factors for abruptly ending oobe especially if it is new.  Its easy to get too excited and allow your emotions to overide your control of your physical body.  This is really your bodies way of keeping tabs on you.  If you get scared or too happy, you will usually be drawn back.  Try to move forward by pacing your actions.  If you are able to free your arms, then do that and explore as much as you can with touch.  When you are comforable with that, take another step.  If you feel any anxiety slow down and deal with it as this will enable you to continue.

Hi Joerii

I've had this before during a dream.  I got mightily confused, because in the dream I was already standing outside of my body in my bedroom and as soon as I became lucid, I wasn't sure whether I should get back in my physical body and then project, or whether I was already projecting via the dream body.

I decided I was already "out" of my physical body and just got on with it.

However, it's interesting that you reached for your physical body - that would normally put a spoke in the works, so to speak.  Even thinking about my physical body has a detrimental effect.

I've also had the sensation many times of being partially out.  One of the ways round this (and a very effective one in my opinion) is to roll out of your body.  So, you simply lie there, your second body inside your physical body and roll to the left or right.  Keep rolling until you are far enough away to feel confident to get up and go!

My advice next time?  Rather than think of your physical body, dive through the nearest door, knowing that you will end up in another world.  Or practice levitation.  I've often astounded dream people by telling them I can levitate. They look at me like I'm bonkers.  So then I show them that I can!!  It's great fun.   :D

Oh, and don't be too concerned about the lack of vibes - I never have them.

Good luck!

Sarah

Joerii, you assumed your feet were preventing you.  This led you to try to control the physical from the imagination.  Part of our day-to-day or physical experience is the control of the physical by thinking or wanting.  Maybe this is why you were returned to the body.

How about requesting to see your entire physical body?  Or thinking to yourself "I want to see my entire physical body."  I imagine you would have to be out of the physical body to see it.  The key may be to think of something that would require you to be out of your body.  This may happen spontaneously or in a guided way.  Just keep in mind that you are very creative also.  In the process, you may come up with very interesting ways to counteract that (for example, in the case of ending up with 2 bodies).

Of course, you would not be seeing the physical body but a projection of it--in any case (AWAKE or SLEEP).

How the hell do you levitate Sarah?  That sounds awesome!
