Even though it is a great idea to try and hook up with others, I think it is necessary to learn how to project a couple of feet away from your physical first..

That might be what is holding alot of new comers to Astral Projection back...the fact that they try to run before learning to walk.  I would suggest focusing on a bedroom or any room in your house that you know well, using the same techniques you would use for long distance travel.  

But of course those whom do that already...have fun at the statue!!
